gerrytaggart Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Maybe that particular 'journalist' is a fan of one of our rivals and just wishes to stir some ill feeling?. Anyway more fool you for reading that rag in the first place.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Think they've banned me now as I'm not allowed to post on there!! They are saying they wouldn't have signed Kevin Phillips, but I was going to reiterate to them that he had no interest in going to them anyway. Funny how they're scrapping like mad for another striker
DanTheFox07 Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 wow! they have to detract from us being top of the League with this dross, bore off! well take Austin off your hands in summer if you don't go up!
Hugo Sanchez Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Another tinpot club like Fulham. Got a shite fanbase and in recent times lost to vauxhall motors phahahha. A league 1 club at best.
MC Prussian Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 I'll type it out for you from this morning's copy of The Sun:). Lloyd Dyer last night SLAMMED Leicester for their treatment of players over new deals. The Foxes midfielder is one of 11 stars whose contracts are due to run out at the Championship leaders. Dyer, 31, said: "A one-year extension has been mentioned but I get the impression they are not bothered. "I love the club and want to stay for the rest of my career." Lloyd Dyer The great thing about quotes like that is that the newspaper cleverly avoids mentioning whether Dyer spoke to them directly or whether it was a casual statement made to somebody else. Besides, even if the newspaper were to be sued a) They're smart enough to have hired enough competent lawyers to defend their paper no matter what b) There's always a patsy within a newspaper that can get the axe to make it appear as if one has made amends The smart thing to do here - if it is not a case of blatant libel or misquotation with serious consequences - is simply to stay calm and get promoted without remotely being bothered what the papers write. Some papers are desperate to sell, make up near-scandals or aiding other aspiring clubs in the quest to unsettle players from promotion hopefuls.
fuchsntf Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 It is a "direct" quote from Dyer:).....no professional journalist would risk misquoting a player or make things up in case he/she got sued. It could cost the paper a lot of money if Dyer complained he was misquoted.I will confidently say that I am sure Dyer spoke to the journalist who quoted him accurately. Some players are bound to feel unsettled if they don't know where they will be playing in August and don't know how much they will be earning. Konchesky has taken a pay cut because he is now a veteran and realises he almost certainly won't get a better offer. You or your relatations must be journalists, to even belief that load of cr#p. You need more than that to sue in England, thats Why sports journalist have gaps between their teeth, no player has sued on a misquote, no paper has had to pay a penny, for such misconcieved stories..Do you like playing with the cows in the field because you so full of bu//s+it
woddyuk Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 I'd love to see QPR slip up in the play-offs but surely it must worry Leicester fans when Lloyd Dyer voices concerns over players' contracts. I was surprised to see his quotes in today's Sun, saying "A one-year extension has been mentioned but I get the impression they (the club) are not bothered." I thought everyone (the board and players) were supposed tom be singing from the same hymn sheet? Interesting article given that Lloyd doesn't do press interviews.
