Chazwaz Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fUfuKqW4W-I Out of play? Definitely not. If that's out of play then so is this.
MrSpaM Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Interesting that the Boro fans are still going on about this on their forums. 99% of them are 'unsure' as to whether the ball was over the line, if the referee was also unsure, and the linesman didn't flag for it, then surely the ref has no choice but to give us the benefit of the doubt and say it was in. Can't see how the ref has done anything wrong in all honesty, he's played it as he's seen it.
The Guvnor Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Was it, wasn't it, inconclusive as far as I am concerned. Incidentally I thought the ref had a superb game on Sat, apart from not spotting the elbow Vardy got in the face just before he was substituted.
yorkie1999 Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 I think the problem is we have spent the last 48 years believing this crossed the line. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Uhe_l1h3w8 It didn't. Clear yard over the line!
gerrytaggart Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 If the roles were reversed alot of us would be saying the ball was out and 'boro fans would be saying it was not...ha! Refs eh!
LCCFox96 Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 It was very tight but just in play. The Middlesbrough fans are complaining because their defence was humbled. Nugent had no right to win that but he did and there was no recovery from the guy marking Vardy or their goalkeeper. I would have no problems with that goal standing if it was against us because in the replay you can see it looks to be just in play. Thank god we won 2-0 or else we would be victims of our own 'luck' again. According to the other teams we are only top by sheer luck anyway. Saturday was a good performance, better given the conditions did not allow us to play our football, and should not be overshadowed by an ambiguous refereeing decision which was probably just about correct anyway.
