davieG Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 http://menunited.prostatecanceruk.org/ What do you know about prostate cancer? If Men United are going to beat the disease, we need to find out how clued up you are. Take the Men United test now. Just answer five quick-fire questions and you could help save men's lives.
RobHawk Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Bit of a strange test, does it really matter if people know how much was invested in research. I know they are obviously trying to highlight it to get more but my first impression was that the test was going to provide them with something a bit more useful.
Webbo Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 I don't doubt this is well meaning but I find these campaigns a bit patronising. " Men United? That sounds like a football team. I wasn't interested before but I am now.". It sort of assumes we're all morons who need gimmicks to be interested in our health.

I agree, the booklet also open with something like "...going for a pee" Ffs - we know what urinating is.
DennisNedry Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 3/5 Got wrong: Thought the prostate was near the arse pipe and was the size of a marble.

I hate the phrase, "it's time for men to unite to fight prostrate cancer, the way women have united to fight breast cancer." I mean, they have? But not cervical cancer or ovarian cancer? Why don't we unite against testicular cancer, that's something men... well you get my drift. I may be a simple layman, but isn't cancer cancer, just that it manifests itself in different ways according to where it is? Surely going off in different directions with lots of different cancer charities hinders research (but pays some peoples wages - yes I'm highly cynical about charities).
