Finnegan Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 I know a few asthmatics who have told me their doctors tell them Leicester is very bad for it. The way we lay in a basin / valley apparently doesn't help.
sphericalfox Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2589649/Britains-worst-towns-air-pollution-revealed-campaigners-warn-urgent-measures-needed.html I used to go running in the evenings when I lived in Sheffield and by the time you battled your way to the top of the nearest hill (nearly every fooking road) you'd be choking on the smog and the taste of it was sickening. God knows how people who live there with kids long term, can put up with it. And Sheffield is one of the greenest (tree-wise) cities in Europe!
westernpark Posted 26 March 2014 Posted 26 March 2014 I ran for two months everyday, in the summer last year. The fact that I ran in the day and the pollution was so bad,I developed sport induced asthma!
hairy Posted 27 March 2014 Posted 27 March 2014 A few years ago you could see it as you descended down London Road. Its because the city is in a 'basin' and when there is no wind it just sits there and builds up. I blame Kieth Vaz obviously.
