Tuna Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 A bit of a spin off from the Pompey topic, but I realized that Barker was fired by Crawley on November 27th, and now Pompey on the 27th March. Sacked twice in 4 months! That is quite unbelievable and I was wondering whether there has been any other manager who has suffered a similar fate, IE sacked twice or more in the same season. I doubt anyone has been sacked twice with such a short space of time in between jobs. Any Ideas?

The Horse's Mouth Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Gasperini last year at Palermo was kind of similar but even more bizare, he was sacked in February then rehired in February and then sacked again in March.
katieakita Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 Micheal appleton? Strokes, he probably has had 3 in a season, lets hope he is lined up for Florist
Jimothy Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 Micheal appleton? Didn't he choose to leave his jobs rather than being sacked?
Strokes Posted 30 March 2014 Posted 30 March 2014 Didn't he choose to leave his jobs rather than being sacked?Im not sure, thats why i put the question mark. I just remember him having alot of jobs, within a few months.

Tuna Posted 30 March 2014 Author Posted 30 March 2014 Micheal appleton? Yeah, I considered Appleton but he did choose to leave Blackpool and Portsmouth. I'm more interested in managers who are so presumably poor that they have been sacked twice in one season. I'm sure Barker may become a good manager, but his respective records at Crawley and Pompey are really quite poor. Brian Laws as an interesting piece of trivia, has now been sacked three times by Scunthorpe over the years.
