Dan Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 How his this thread turned into a series of little arguments? Embarrassing.
Mark_w Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 akinbiyi Correct. 1. ??? 2. ??? 3. ??? 4. Darren Eadie (£3,000,000 - 1999) 5. Ade Akinbiyi (£5,000,000 - 2000)
Dan Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Nope, looking for players who broke the record. Eadie is the only correct answer. 1. ??? 2. ??? 3. ??? 4. Darren Eadie 5. ??? Ade Akinbiyi. Matt Mills doesn't count does he?
Grandad. Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 6. Gazza - Euro 96 7. Platt - World Cup 90 and Euro 96 8. Sheringham - Euro 96
kingcarr21 Posted 4 April 2014 Author Posted 4 April 2014 I thought mills was Gary Neville? I read that and thought you were answering the leicester highest transfer. thinking 'YOU WHAT'
Mark_w Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 I thought mills was No, pretty sure his was rising to £5,000,000 and wouldn't have actually done so. Even so it wouldn't actually break the record, it would just tie with it.
Grandad. Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Gary Neville? Nope, I originally thought him but he never stepped up. Nope, looking for players who broke the record. Eadie is the only correct answer. 1. ??? 2. ??? 3. ??? 4. Darren Eadie 5. ??? Andy Impey?
Mark_w Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Hasn't Glen Johnson scored a penalty for England or am I imagining that? Edit: Think I'm imagining it.
Dan Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Wasn't Matt Mills £3.5mil rising to £5.5mil based on some sort of performance related clause? So as you can guess based on his performances for us it remained as £3.5mil. I honestly have no clue other than Eadie or Akinbiyi, but those two along with Mills - what a serious curse it seems to be for us. Pearce (For Grandad question) Good shout actually
Grandad. Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Nope. Matt Elliott? He was a record signing when he signed, sure he was?
kingcarr21 Posted 4 April 2014 Author Posted 4 April 2014 wasnt hargreaves the only scorer against Portugal? I seem to remember Hargreaves having a decent tournament and finishing it off by being the only scorer against Portugal
Mark_w Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Matt Elliott? He was a record signing when he signed, sure he was? Correct. 1. ??? 2. Matt Elliott (£1,600,000 - 1997) 3. ??? 4. Darren Eadie (£3,000,000 - 1999) 5. Ade Akinbiyi (£5,000,000 - 2000)
Grandad. Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 10. Hargreaves - Euro 2004 and World Cup 2006 Ah I get this, now, Mark Draper?! He was another record signing..
kingcarr21 Posted 4 April 2014 Author Posted 4 April 2014 well im stuck on both questions now have no idea. Both great questions
Mark_w Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Ah I get this, now, Mark Draper?! He was another record signing.. Yep. 1. Mark Draper (£1,250,000 - 1994) 2. Matt Elliott (£1,600,000 - 1997) 3. ??? 4. Darren Eadie (£3,000,000 - 1999) 5. Ade Akinbiyi (£5,000,000 - 2000)
Grandad. Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 I don't know if he came in after Eadie, fun time Frankie Sinclair?
Mark_w Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Paul Merson for England? I don't know if he came in after Eadie, fun time Frankie Sinclair? Correct, that's it. 1. Mark Draper (£1,250,000 - 1994) 2. Matt Elliott (£1,600,000 - 1997) 3. Frank Sinclair (£2,000,000 - 1998) 4. Darren Eadie (£3,000,000 - 1999) 5. Ade Akinbiyi (£5,000,000 - 2000) http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/page/recordtransfers.php
ScouseFox Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Owen scored for England. I think one of Carra and Terry did too but can't remember which one.
Grandad. Posted 4 April 2014 Posted 4 April 2014 Paul Merson for England? Correct, that's it. 1. Mark Draper (£1,250,000 - 1994) 2. Matt Elliott (£1,600,000 - 1997) 3. Frank Sinclair (£2,000,000 - 1998) 4. Darren Eadie (£3,000,000 - 1999) 5. Ade Akinbiyi (£5,000,000 - 2000) http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/page/recordtransfers.php Not bad for a Liverpool fan.. My LCFC knowledge through the 90s is pretty good though. 11. Merson - World Cup 98 Left to get.. 2 World Cup 90, 1 World Cup 98/Euro 2004 and 1 Euro 2004.
