MikeyT Posted 22 May 2014 Posted 22 May 2014 http://news.sky.com/story/1267098/baby-caught-after-two-storey-plunge-in-china See video on link CCTV footage has captured the dramatic moment a baby was caught by a passerby after falling two storeys from a building in China. The one-year-old had apparently got out of a window during a thunderstorm when he slipped from the building in Guangdong Province. Cameras trained on the street below showed the hero, Mr Li, with his arms outstretched as the baby began to fall. He then rushes forwards and clings on to the youngster despite the pouring rain. Mr Li said: "I didn't think too much at the time. "I was just afraid of failing to catch him. Some people put down cardboard to avoid serious injuries to the baby if I failed to catch him."
MikeyT Posted 22 May 2014 Author Posted 22 May 2014 I don't think cardboard is going to make much difference Haha i thought that too when I read it.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 22 May 2014 Posted 22 May 2014 Lucky the fat one trying to steal a bit of glory didn't get in the way and **** it up really
Rincewind Posted 22 May 2014 Posted 22 May 2014 Will need to watch it but was there time to place the cardboard or was it a reflex catch? Videos do not always play on this laptop with mobile connection.
lcfc1994 Posted 22 May 2014 Posted 22 May 2014 I'm relieved someone had the brainwave to put down cardboard, just in case.
Unabomber Posted 22 May 2014 Posted 22 May 2014 Thank goodness for that cardboard, luckily a homeless person that was asleep under it didn't stand up and fvck it all up.
cambridgefox Posted 22 May 2014 Posted 22 May 2014 Probably not from that height but cardboard has a large "crush energy " depending on size of box also, but it could help ,often used in stunts because of this.
Rincewind Posted 22 May 2014 Posted 22 May 2014 The one catching may have been an England fielder and would have slowed the object being caught down so the cardboard would have been softer than a concrete pavement.
