fuchsntf Posted 7 July 2014 Posted 7 July 2014 My dad took me to the pictures, to see Gordon Scott in Hercules films (he also played Tarzan in the 60s). He told me to take interest in the 'trailers' There were mini series of various documentaries, one being a series and long highlights of Club and international Games covering the top foreign players, showing and comparing them with the likes of Mathews, Haines, Finney, etc. De Stefano, Puskas, Yashin, plus top czechs, spanish italians, Brazilians, and yes Germans. I feel grateful and privilaged, to have seen these clips and highlights.Even then we overrated our own, and underrated the foreigners, even then, we couldnt trap and dribble and pass a ball on the run, as a team. The Mathews, Haines, were exceptions, but other foreign teams had at least 1/2 their team had such players. De stefano was one of the true greats and geniuses....
