Matt Posted 21 August 2005 Posted 21 August 2005 Rock singer Courtney Love is pregnant by Alan Partridge star Steve Coogan, it has been reported.Love, 41, widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain and former lead singer with the band Hole, discovered she was expecting the British comedian's baby three days ago through a home pregnancy kit, according to the News of the World. She told the paper: "Yes, I am pregnant with Steve's baby, but I'd rather not talk about our relationship." A friend of the singer said the baby was conceived during a two-week fling while the pair staying at the Sunset Marquis hotel in West Hollywood. The unnamed friend said the pregnancy could not have come at a worse time for the singer. The troubled rocker, who has an 11-year-old daughter Frances Bean, from her marriage to Cobain, is currently undergoing a 28-day drug treatment programme. She was ordered into rehab last week after admitting using drugs while on probation. Love is on probation in three separate drug and assault cases and will be sentenced for the violations on September 16. "She hasn't made any decisions about whether she should keep the baby or not," the friend told the paper. Coogan's marriage to Caroline Hickman came to an end last month after she divorced him on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour. Coogan, 39, who is best known for his role as Alan Partridge, married Caroline in December 2002 shortly after they got back together after splitting up when he had a fling with a lap dancer. The marriage lasted 16 months.

I thought it was April fools day when I read this, realyl bizzare. Just feel sorry for the kid, her 11 year old daugher already stands no chance with a ****ed up mum like her and neither does this baby. Shes also been quoted saying it's an embarrassment having Coogans baby because he isn't a A grade celeb, of just **** off and die Courtney. Add that to the fact she got away with murder 11 years a go.

Remember how they put the knife into the FOXES after La Manga? And also remember the libel payments they had to make when certain stories proved to be false? Not only is reproducing the stories a potential breach of copyright, it could also get this site into serious trouble!

In a statement, rock star Love denied reports in The News of the World that she was pregnant by the UK comedian, or that they had a relationship. "She confirms that she and Steve are good friends and have met a few times in Los Angeles," it added. A spokeswoman for Coogan had earlier told the BBC: "It's nonsense". She declined to comment further. The denials follow reports in The News of the World on Sunday which quoted 41-year-old Love as saying she was "pregnant with Steve's baby". But The Sun has since contradicted the story, reporting that Around the World in 80 Days actor Coogan was "astonished" by the "ridiculous" claim. Reports published earlier this month claimed Coogan - best known for his role as spoof DJ Alan Partridge - had had an affair with Love - the widow of Kurt Cobain.  These stories were subsequently dismissed by his spokesman, who said they were "just good friends". On Friday Love was ordered to enter a drug rehabilitation clinic by a Los Angeles judge, who said he would consider sending her to jail for violating her parole terms. Love - who has an 11-year-old daughter by Cobain named Frances Bean - is now expected to spend a month at a residential treatment centre. In July, Coogan's wife Caroline Hickman was granted a divorce on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour. She had married the 39-year-old comedian in December 2002.
