they do that at liverpool, think i've said it before. you can't go you can sell your ST back for let's say £20 and the club sell it on again for that game as a matchday ticket for £50. STH gets a bit back, new matchday ticket buyer gets to go to a "sold out" game and the club makes an extra £30. everyone is a winner.

although one thing i don't understand is that if you can't go/don't want to surely you would have a mate, a relative, a chap down the pub or anyone who'd take the ticket off your hands?! i don't live in leicester so don't have a great deal of family or friends who support city. but whenever i can't make a game, even in the championship, there'd be 3 or 4 names at least after each ticket for free, or for a pint next time i see them etc. surely in a case like mattp's friends in the pub someone else in the pub could've offered to buy them a few rounds in exchange for a free ticket that was otherwise not used?

some people are weird.

Agree with what you said, but it would be easier to do it through the club than risk giving your season ticket to someone, even someone you know, and it removes the hassle, if you can't go last minute you let the club know and they make your seat available on the door.

Depends how well the club is doing. During our Megson,  Levein, Kelly, Levein era I often had a spare ticket and sometimes I couldn't give it away not even on here. I occasionally got a tenner for it.

They do it on tickets sold, only team that does it on the actual gate is spurs, it was on sky sports news a couple weeks ago, Arsenal had 40,000 for CL Game when they said the official attendance was 60,000

So we only sold 8k for the boro game in the snow.

They must give the correct figure as it is an attendance figure not a sold ticket figure.

They would also need to know how many are in the ground and where for safety reasons.

If they said there was 20,000 at that game then it would have looked a bit stupid so they probably made a special case for it as it was so obvious

Think the Tax man may have something to say about false attendances being announced.

I always thought it was the ACTUAL figure that were ACTUALLY in the ground at that game due to fire regs and health and safety etc

Yeah sure they would be well happy risking life for 5k sat at home watching telly.
