Monsell1976 Posted 30 November 2014 Posted 30 November 2014 I just watched the extended highlights v QPR on sky. I've gotta say we had a good go at them, and were unlucky to come away without a point. There are issues for me about zonal marking and I was frustrated with the diamond but to be honest NP is also on a learning curve. It's just my opinion but I'm experienced enough to have seen us flick from manager to manager and it isn't always a successful transformation. I think NP is the man to take us forward, & I would give him the assurance that he has the long term commitment from the owners. Building a solid future for our club could include relegation this season, it has to happen to 3 teams every year and we are gonna be there or there abouts. Let him build for the future, learn this time around and get stronger. Let's just enjoy the ride. Not having a pop about watching highlights, but you only see the best bits, being at the ground and seeing the 90 minutes live, there is more to be concerned about, than be positive about, I'm afraid. Not a fan of sacking managers mid season, and until now, I was prepared to reserve judgement till Christmas, but we are so under prepared for this division, and the but stops with the management, and I am losing faith in them more and more each game.
1993fox Posted 30 November 2014 Posted 30 November 2014 If we go down, I don't have faith that we will come straight back up. One good year in the championship, and people have started to think that it's a walkover. Exactly. It's toxic thinking. It's shocking seeing some people think it's okay to go down because Pearson will bring us straight back up. Probably the same group of people who bumlick Matty James week in week out.

We were poor v palace and the 2nd half v burnley which are the only games I've managed to get tickets for so far. I've watched streams etc but it's not like being there, point taken. I'd still go long term and stick with him as I believe (blindly??) that hes right for us.
Bunyip Posted 30 November 2014 Posted 30 November 2014 Bottom line is Q.P.R are a poor side in fact as bad as last season yet they the beat us. If we cannot beat sides like Q.P.R then there is no hope of staying in this league. Just how does anyone , even the most optimistic and loyal supporters of Pearson imagine he is going to turn the season round ? With what ? The team is by any standard simply not good enough and who the hell is going to come to a bottom side under a clueless manager half way through the season ? Time to get rid of Pearson , he had his chance and has been proved wanting and his substitutions and tactics are laughable. I'm afraid it has to get worse before it gets better. Remove him now and get a manager who at least understands the complexity of life in the Premiership and allow him to build for next season after the inevitable drop this season . That would be true forward planning not just desperately clinging on to the idea that Pearson and this team will somehow come good even though it is blatantly obvious they wont.

That's why I was so pissed of yesterday, early in the match we made them look poor, but after we scored, for some reason sat to deep, didn't press high up, but let them play the ball around our half with as much time as they pleased, waiting for the killer pass.We wasted enough chances to win the game first half, had we had the quality to take those chances, qpr would have folded. Then I realised how bad we must be getting it wrong to get beat by a side like qpr, when we could and should have won it by half time
oxfordfox Posted 30 November 2014 Posted 30 November 2014 There is no question Pearson did a great job getting us promoted. Twice. For that we will be eternally grateful. But he is out of his depth at this level. He manages like his favourite book is 'Flat Back Four' (the bible of 4-4-2) by Andy Gray. Saying Pulis is all about long balls is so wrong. That's not how Palace played. Organised, able to deal with set pieces, neat short passes and excellent counter attacking.
lgfualol Posted 30 November 2014 Posted 30 November 2014 Did we hire any coaches with premier league coaching experience? Feel like that was a bad move. Everything about us is totally championship.
oxfordfox Posted 30 November 2014 Posted 30 November 2014 Did we hire any coaches with premier league coaching experience? Feel like that was a bad move. Everything about us is totally championship. Correct. Want to stay in the Premier League? Bring Pulis in now.

Don't leave it too late. Pulis joined Palace this time last season and turned it round...
