Foxey id Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Well that's not true. http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/free-coach-travel-to-burnley-161214/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter That link does not say how many coaches there were. There were 3 official coaches (free coaches) and they were parked immediately outside the away end with two unofficial coaches from Wales. So you didnt point out the facts!
Claretforever Posted 9 January 2015 Posted 9 January 2015 Of course there were. And I suppose the coaches parked on Ormerod Road during the match (as they always do) were just offering a one way service? It must be that the Spurs supporters were so surprised by their salubrious surroundings that they opted to stay? Even for those who don't know this, it's not a difficult equation to work out. The majority of their fans will have travelled from around London. Do they opt for free travel or pay probably £80+ in petrol? And you say only 150 people opted for the coaches? :-)

The majority of their fans will have travelled from around London. Do they opt for free travel or pay probably £80+ in petrol? And you say only 150 people opted for the coaches? :-) The official coaches were parked outside the away end, they were double deck coaches so approx 200 on those, those parked down Ormerod Road would have been unofficial ones from supporters groups around the country. Actually some Spurs did stay over in Burnley and got the train back the next day although why anybody would want to stay in that dump is beyond me. Yes the majority of fans there on Monday night would of come from around London, although it wasnt a large majority as there was a big turn out from northern, scottish and midland Spurs fans. The official coaches were due to return to Tottenham at 4am, I dont know if you have ever been to Tottenham but it isnt the sort of place you would want to be dropped at that time of day. This was the only drop fro the official coaches. So those people who live around London would then have to try and make their way home from White Hart lane at 4am, so for many it is easier to share cars and the £80 cost of petrol, as you would get home a hell of a lot earlier and with a lot less hassle in the early hours.
Claretforever Posted 10 January 2015 Posted 10 January 2015 Yes I have been to Tottenham, and it's a sh*thole, as are large parts of Leicester as I've spent enough time there too! You've still not provided any proof that there were only 3 free coaches, only a suggestion that a) only 3 official coaches were outside the away end, and b) that the other (many) coaches weren't also free. Also, you fail to take into account that coaches don't necessarily just depart from WHL. Take their upcoming game with Sheff United as an example: they even have coaches departing from Newport Pagnall!!! Also, how about pick ups en route. Burnley coaches have several pick ups en route to away fixtures, and I'd assume Leicester would also. I can imagine it now: 'we depart from WHL only, with no pick ups, and we only let you off back at WHL'. Okaaay then. ;-) Your claim of only 3 free coaches is flawed.
WiFoxes Posted 14 January 2015 Posted 14 January 2015 Spurs it is. If anyone stateside knows a way to watch/stream this match please let me know. FS1 and FS2 are showing Man City and West Brom's matches.
Bamba's Babes Posted 14 January 2015 Posted 14 January 2015 Great. I'll go to this rather than the league game and save money on the ticket at the same time.
tom27111 Posted 15 January 2015 Posted 15 January 2015 I think we've got a great chance of going through. Spurs are more than likely to play their second string, they have the League Cup semi final the Wednesday before and after we play them, plus, if it goes to a replay, it's likely to be played a few days before they face Arsenal in the league. Get past these and who knows what could happen. Probably do a Wigan, win the cup and go down!
