What a brilliant quote lol

Hate to say it but I was chuffed with that myself,it was all down to you though Matt, you were listing a few sporting events with atmosphere and omitted the arrows, then I remembered the misfortune I had one year when my mrs said she had got hold of some tickets for the darts, all excited until I saw the word Lakeside! You could of had a conversation with your mates from the tables to some mates at the bar.Did manage to see a young Stephen Bunting though.

We may as well be honest and just admit everything is embarrassing in this country now regarding fans trying to be intimidating, it's a combination of a different breed of supporter and authorities who have caused it, players aren't going to be intimidated taking a corner when fans are 20 metres away and even they are women, kids and disabled.

Just look at Boca or San Lorenzo in Argentina, eastern europe sometimes does it, Gremio in Brazil, even North Africa and Turkey, they are now the only places genuinely intimidating.

I was cringing last week when I saw journalists asking Pochetino if he was worried about the atmosphere at Bramall Lane. He looked embarrassed when replying he'd played away in Colombia where you couldn't hear or see for 90 mins because of fireworks and flares then had to lie on the floor of the coach after the game as every window was put through before switching coaches on a side street to avoid the same going onto the motorway out.

One of the biggest things I've noticed in ten years away is how quiet PL grounds are now, it's louder at the rugby or cricket half the time.

The bloke asking it genuinely seemed to be think he's be scared of a 13 year old from Rotherham who was releasing a red and white balloon before kick off.

Agree with most but louder at the cricket/rugby. It's not.

The steepness of the Bombonera helps too, the fans are loud enough as it is but they're virtually on top of the pitch there.

They turn Selhurst from a utter morgue to a groubd with an atmospheres. They deserve applauds for that.

Personally feel that scary atmospheres are dead inside grounds and its outside grounds where it can still get hairy. Somewhere like Hull is a good case of that.

Its definitely the younger generation that is the problem. Seem more concerned with shouting abuse at the away fans, checking their accumulaters on their iPhones or going to the bar early rather than singing support.

I wouldn't keep it down to a demographic in this example. I see old boys bored by 35 minutes and straight down the concourse for a pint.
