inckley fox Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 You've gotta be kidding me? He's further exacerbated a situation he didn't need to. He was perfectly entitled to his right of reply but the further suggestion of Top/Vichai sacking thing has given this story more legs. But it's totally understandable that he did. And the incredible mess of a situation which he did respond to was the creation of Pearson and the board. Amazing that people feel the need to turn their focus to one media outlet's response to it, especially when that media outlet is practically synonymous with the club, was one of its best players, and saved it. It's almost as if it's because of that association that people are so outraged and, in being so, conveniently managing to overlook the far bigger picture of a club descending into shambles. It's a minor footnote to a much greater mess that had absolutely nothing to do with Lineker. As for the media coverage of Pearson's actions - there's a reason why they're talking about it so much. Namely, that this sort of behaviour isn't common for a manager in his position. It's time, it's got to be time, to move on now, surely. Get behind the team, the manager, tonight and give them the chance to put this behind them. Until next time, at least.
stingray Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Nigel Pearson is a ****ing hero. He doesn't give a shit what I think, you think, what the media thinks or what anyone thinks. He's his own man, says it straight up and doesn't take bullshit. People these days are too worried about what people think of them and so say everything behind people's backs or faceless on social media. The days of people being man enough to say what they think to people's faces is long gone. That's why people can't stand Nigel, because he'll look you in the eyes and call you a **** rather than waiting till your backs turned. He's got more bollocks than 90% of the public and I can guarantee next time Gary Lineker and Nigel Pearson come face to face it will be Gary acting like all this never happened and pretend to be Nigel's best friend. As the reality is Nigel would wipe the floor with the squirmy ****. A hero?! Wash your mouth out with Salt and Vinegar. Pearson's now at that Alan Partridge stage in life where he's living in a Travelodge.
WardyisPukka Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 I didnt see the news until about 40 mins after it had broken. On a Sunday night, its not inconceivable that it took a little longer than 5 minutes to sort out. What do you mean you dont believe in time difference? There is a time difference between here and Thailand of 7 hours. What time was the story running here? About 7.30? That would make it 2.30 am in Thailand. Not unreasonable that it took a bit of time to get shit together. Lets say the press officer was at home, got a call saying, you better get down here and it took him 45 minutes from getting the call to getting to the stadium. 3hrs and 15 minutes later the statement is released. That actually isnt that bad. I meant a decision like this should surely be spoken about between top and vichai before telling Nigel whatever the time is in either country The fact that it now sounds like vichai made it without even consulting top is a bit embarrassing
stingray Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 the tax comment was nothing do to with the license fee. Lineker (and many others) are accused of dodging tax . Gary to the tune of 1.3m http://www.themediablog.co.uk/the-media-blog/2015/01/lineker-threatens-to-sue-the-sun-over-tax-story.html
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Getting really silly now...... Pearson shouldn't have made the Tax comment as it's unproven - Where Gary only stated that Pearson's behaviour was a bit 'Bizarre'..... I'm a Pearson fan and thought we would keep him even if we went down...... Now I think he's slowly burning bridges... This. Why, oh why, can't Pearson keep quiet, and just get on with what he's paid to do.? That tax jibe, was totally out of order, and given the board another reason to sack him. He is wobbling on the tightrope, I suspect.
MPH Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 One of the things that is keeping Pearson in a job is that the majority of fans want him here. Majority. A few encouraging performances but some dire ones too... But its the fans keeping him here.... But when you start taking cheap digs at Lineker, well you are messing with a Leicester Legend and you'll soon lose that popularity. When it comes to recent events , Lineker is, as far as im concerned. untouchable.
Bettsj2 Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 I meant a decision like this should surely be spoken about between top and vichai before telling Nigel whatever the time is in either country Which is why I find this hard to believe. From all we know of the owners, this just wouldnt be the case.
Haydos Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 This. Why, oh why, can't Pearson keep quiet, and just get on with what he's paid to do.? That tax jibe, was totally out of order, and given the board another reason to sack him. He is wobbling on the tightrope, I suspect. Wait, so the tax jibe was out of order but Gary is fine making the comments about completely internal affairs. Sound like you've been a bit brainwashed old boy. Back to to the nursing home

Haydos Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 If you say so. Seriously mate. Most people here are willing to admit Pearson's behaviour and comments have been unprofessional but you'll even go out of your way to defend others to satisfy the chip on your shoulder. What's the point in you even posting on here when you don't discuss things, you just bash Pearson and back anyone against him no matter what. It's strange.
Haydos Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 When it comes to recent events , Lineker is, as far as im concerned. untouchable. What? This is getting ridiculous. So he can just be as unprofessional as he wants and it's fine in your books because he did something good for the club? So many of our fans are completely illogical.

That's fine, fair game. I don't think he needed to tweet information that hadn't been clarified and released by the club. Lineker is a legend, has done fantastic things for the club on and off the field but he didn't need to add his second tweet. I hope I haven't blasphemed at all.
