ATM I am happy to be in Leicester. In 5-10 years I would consider moving to the Lake District to be near some of the rest of my family. I do not want to be approaching my 80's alone in a flat far from family. It depends on my health and mobility. A quiet village with a local pub close by would be a nice way to spend my remaining years.

Mind my mother is in her 80's My brother up there 65, sister and brother in their 50's. Brother in Leicester just turned 60 last October so none of us are spring chickens.

You'll be socializing with Tories if you camp out in village pubs!

I saw that Market Harborough was in some BBC top town and was quite shocked. The place has a nasty undertone and full of smack heads and a huge underground pikey scene on the outskirts of the town that the police refuse to tackle......place was never the same since they shut the broadway.

I was in Harrogate last summer. It is lovely, and "Betty's Tearooms" are out of this world. When we came out, there was a massive line of people, waiting to get in!

I used to live in Leeds, and so, visited the Harrogate quite often.
