C-man Posted 31 August 2005 Posted 31 August 2005 The updated and complete tables for August will be published very soon. But before they are, the promotion and relegation rules should be published. In the event of a tie for points, places shall be decided in the following, in the following order: 1. The predictor with the higher number of predictions will finish above the predictors with a lower amount of predictions. For example if City Fan finished on the same number of points as me, but he had made more predictions, he would finish above me. THEN: 2. The number of matches that the predictor has scored in. For example if City Fan scored in 5 games, whereas i had only scored in 4, he would finish above me. THEN: 3. Alphabetical Order. Sorry, but after several hours racking our brains, we both couldn't think of another tie-breaker, so it has to be this I hope it is all ok with you and good luck.
Wellman Posted 1 September 2005 Posted 1 September 2005 So I'll go down because of my name! Fantastic!

Obviously difficult decision but very arbitary, how about based on either how long you've been doing the Predictions, might be a bit difficult to find out or how long you've been a Foxestalk member, admittedly still arbitary but better than alphabetical or you could just go on age i.e. oldest stay / youngest relegated

Wellman Posted 1 September 2005 Posted 1 September 2005 Yea I agree with that one more! I was thinking of changing my name to AWellman!
C-man Posted 1 September 2005 Author Posted 1 September 2005 Ok, we've decided to use this as the third tiebreaker: 3. The order the predictors finished in last season. If the predictors didnt predict, then it will be on who predicted first this season. Better?
Blue Arrow Posted 1 September 2005 Posted 1 September 2005 Im not that bothered but i just want to see the tables.

shen Posted 1 September 2005 Posted 1 September 2005 Im not that bothered but i just want to see the tables. Same here According to my calculations I should have just crawled above the line, but I'm anxious to see if I did a mistake
toonboy Posted 1 September 2005 Posted 1 September 2005 Just a suggestion but wouldn't something like 'most points in a single prediction' be better than just how long you have done it as this rewards really good predictions? Put the tables up!

Bluefoxtim Posted 4 September 2005 Posted 4 September 2005 eh? surely if someone has had 5 predictions and the other has 3 and they are level on points, surely the one with 3 predictions should go up, as he has done better than the other person

Ok if they were late joining the scheme otherwise if they can't be arsed to enter why should they be considered better.
