This really shits me, football is played on the field not in the court room. The greed in this case is everything wrong with modern football. Leeds have worked their way back into, and then stayed in the richest league in the world. We are at our lowest ebb, club is in a mess, and theirs serious question over our financial future. They choose now to pull the trigger, choosing to gain a few extra million in the bank to possibly bankrupt another football club. It stinks, I don’t think I could despise a club more than I do Leeds right now.

Just having a chat with someone at work about the player of the tournament for this World Cup and our opinions were vastly different, so I thought I’d put my top 3 in here and see everyone else’s. obviously there’s 3 huge games to go, but so far unless someone does something amazing in the next two this is the 3. 1. Michael Olise - I think he’s been pure class every game and a huge reason France have brought it all together. 2. Jude Bellingham - in the big moments Hey Jude has risen to a whole new level. 3. Rodri - the best Spanish player by far, and the main reason they are still alive in this tournament. If everyone does a 1,2,3 and I’ll use the votes before the semi final to announce an official FoxesTalk Player of the tournament.

Footballs coming home!

I think in a weird sort of way, Spain are the only team that can beat France, but at the same time Spain can be beaten by any of the other teams left in the competition.

There’s something special about heading to the pub at 5:30 in the morning, not knowing if you need coffee or a pint. I think the excitement for football is coming back strongly this World Cup.

Can we petition FIFA to move the semi final to the Azteca if it turns out to be Argentina v England. We have some unfinished business to attend to.

The only way NZ can host the World Cup is to cohost with Australia. The biggest problem Australia has is June July is peak AFL and NRL season, there’s no way those codes will allow the use of the biggest stadiums for football for 2 months mid season. Which is a real shame, because I’d love it and I think Australia would be an amazing place to host the World Cup and already has much of the infrastructure ready to go.
