  1. As a few people here know I used to be involved with Ashby Ivanhoe, moved to Sheffield, heard the chairman talking on radio Sheffield and approached them had a meeting with them. Turns out their chairman is lead singer of reverend and the makers. Went well, they don’t seem to keen to pursue it though which is fine, might be because sacking people or stepping on peoples who have been there for 15 years is a bad move for the club (in their defence it is) or it might be that a politely said Reverend and the makers are a pile of shit (in my defence, they are) but I had reservations about it myself, all talks of madness about WSL teams (never happening) and the national league (never happening) seemed like a lot of pipe dreams with no means to deliver them myself and people foolishly thinking non league can turn a good profit. Anyway I mention it here as they are (pending an appeal of course) being moved to the UCL with several Leicestershire clubs, I am expecting big money to be thrown around by them, slightly dubious on whether it’ll be spent wisely given the talks I had with them but time will tell I guess.
  2. I play tennis and padel is easy, if you play doubles tennis (which tennis club players do nearly exclusively) your ability at the net normally sets you apart. Hardest part about padel is getting a court. Hence I have the main part just stuck to tennis.
  3. Yeah, thanks for posting. If people don’t think an unfair advantage has been gained from that they know jack shit about competitive football tbh.
  4. Yeah I know a Boro fan and had had that account from him regarding what happened with the analyst changing cloths and deleting his linkedin profile. Still amazes me some people thought they were hard done by, and this is Foxestalk I doubt anything will make them change their minds as that seldom happens but that evidence shows they got exactly what they deserved in my eyes.
  5. the facility costs 14 million pounds a year to run mate. That’s a lot to make out of teenage talent every year to make it sustainably breaking even. League One youngsters shifting for 10 million pounds aren’t exactly ten a penny.
  6. So to boil this backdown to the actual topic as I’ve purposely lead you round the houses, and letting you ramble is getting boring, You, genuinely think, Motsi and he’s advisors have looked at this club and its policy of playing young players, when Liverpool have made an offer, and viewed the amount of time players like Monga and Page have got as a reason to leave Leicester for Liverpool, give all previous points made in this thread?
  7. Nail on the head…. Not particularly helped by the fact we’ve made it quite public how great the facility is. Very easy pickings for big clubs now.
  8. For context, as some people seem to like to call context out without appreciating what it actually means. On average a professional debut is made at about 19. Now, let’s put that in context against having 34 appearances at 16.
  9. No clear pathway to first time football yet we are using several teenagers in first team football. Ok.
  10. I’m sorry, you are comparing yourself and Harry Kane never winning the ballon d’or to Jeremy Monga playing 34 games before the age of 17, just so I’m clear. Just before my point needs further embellishment. Excuse the tone.
  11. Darren Motsi isn't moving on due to a lack of first team opportunties, nor is he moving on as see's himself getting first team football at Liverppol. That's the difference in the arguement. He's moving on because a Champions League Club is in for him as opposed to a League One club who have been run like a car crash, very simple. If he wanted first team football, he wouldn't be going to Liverpool would he.
  12. Strawman arguement that doesn't actually address the issue being raised. You can't rely on either, because the clubs so badly run.
  13. Nah, Sorry. Most lads around 16 17 are more than happy getting playing 34 and 18 games respectively. The club has a lot of problems but that's really not one of them. If you think we are losing talent to Liverpool because of that it's just a backwards arguement. They wont get a kick at Liverpool unless they are out on loan.
  14. You can't play a 16 year old week in week out. It's just not feasible. Like I say he has 34 games for the club, I'm pretty sure Rooney was close to his 17th birthday when he made his debut and I'll be shocked if Walcott had 34 games (or anything close tbh) before his 17th birthday....... Simple footballing logistics. The idea is to give them minutes at that age, not rely on them to drag us out of a relegation battle as it's not going to work, the famous quote "You can't win anything with kids" has been proven to be incorrect when referencing players in their early twenties, possible late teens if very talanted, thinking 16 17 year olds are going to get you out of a hole in the Championship just isn't happening.
  15. Monga alone has 34 appearances he’s 16
