There are lots of calls for a no-nonsense, direct, disciplinarian - "Pearson 3.0' - and I get that but do we really think that'll work?
As fans, it's the most attractive option, right? The players are "misbehaving" on the pitch so we want a father figure to "tell them off".
That's not the answer. That can't be the answer. It's too simplistic and doesn't even begin to address the root causes: Confidence, continuity, tactics, etc.
Right now we need an emotionally astute manager, someone who can inspire and reassure. Someone like the Claudio Ranieri of 2016.
Almost all of our players played their best football elsewhere. You don't forget how to be a good footballer but you can lose confidence, become indecisive and lack new ideas.
