  1. Ugh, this could've (and should've) been so much better. I know it's been said a thousand times already but let me say it a thousand and one. A realistic 5000/1 team could've been: Hamer Simpson Morgan Wasilewski Huth Fuchs Albrighton King Drinkwater N Dyer Ulloa And the opposition should've absolutely been an "all-stars team". No excuses. Logan De Laet Evans St Ledger Konchesky Knockaert Cambiasso Wellens L Dyer Nugent Waghorn I don't know. I get that not everyone is available but it's testament to the state of the club that, at the very least, we couldn't bring back few ex pros to make up an opposition team.
  2. You can flip this and look at how the Premier League winning team did the opposite. Schmeichel, Fuchs, Huth, Morgan, Simpson, Drinkwater, Albrighton, Okazaki, Vardy. All played considerably better for us than anyone else. You could even argue Kante and Mahrez. So - when did this culture change?
  3. That kid we had on loan from Spurs in 2013 is doing alright now in Munich. Didn't think much of him at the time but he'd be alright for us now as back up to Ayew.
  4. Winks celebrating with the fans... 😎😎😎
  5. Here's a thought. Every player in that Leicester line up would look better playing for a different club... Kristiansen, Thomas, Nelson, Skipp, Okoli have all looked better than this playing for other clubs in recent years. Mavididi and Winks looked better for this club two years ago. Even Daka scored for fun in an RB Salzburg team that would probably beat us now. My point is: It's not about ability. The players aren't terrible. It's not even about coaching. We've had SO many managers and still no change. This is about confidence, mentality, psychology, attitude. They are playing WITH fear, not without. How do you change that?
  6. This feels like a real "be careful what you wish for" moment. There are lots of calls for a no-nonsense, direct, disciplinarian - "Pearson 3.0' - and I get that but do we really think that'll work? As fans, it's the most attractive option, right? The players are "misbehaving" on the pitch so we want a father figure to "tell them off". That's not the answer. That can't be the answer. It's too simplistic and doesn't even begin to address the root causes: Confidence, continuity, tactics, etc. Right now we need an emotionally astute manager, someone who can inspire and reassure. Someone like the Claudio Ranieri of 2016. Almost all of our players played their best football elsewhere. You don't forget how to be a good footballer but you can lose confidence, become indecisive and lack new ideas.
  7. Major unpopular opinion incoming. I like Wout Faes. There, I said it. As others have pointed out, one man cannot be responsible for a whole team's relegation. As for his temperament and attitude towards some fans, at least he cares about SOMETHING. He's angry, irritated, aggressive. I think we need that right now. I'd rather have a wound up Wout in the team. So what if he's not likeable? "Likeable" doesn't get promoted. So many other players are too nice, too passive, too forgettable. As for his complacency on the pitch. I'm not sure. I think he takes risks because the players around him are not. Oh - This could also be copied and pasted in the Harry Winks thread...
  8. Another day passes and we're still talking about Jamie Vardy re-signing. Meanwhile, Stoke have welcomed back "legend" Steven Nzonzi. So who would you bring back? Who's realistic? Who could you imagine seeing again? Schmeichel as a back up keeper, anybody?
  9. What are your moments of utter brilliance from an otherwise completely forgettable player? I'll start: Ahmed Musa v Barcelona. Dribbles from the halfway line and scores. *it was a friendly Jeff Bruma v Watford. Scored two 30 yarders in one game. Not done anything before or since. Danny Ward (Yes, I'm going there) v Walsall. Saved all his penalties in the shootout. Fair play.
