lookwhaticando Posted 30 September 2006 Posted 30 September 2006 Kelly Post Birmingham Rob Kelly was full of praise for his battling Foxes after they shrugged off a virus to gain a point at St Andrew's on Saturday afternoon. The City boss had been forced to leave his team selection until the very last minute following a bout of sickness within his squad. The likes of Andy Johnson, Paddy McCarthy, Levi Porter, Iain Hume and Danny Tiatto had all been laid up for most of the week with the bug. But the Foxes played through the pain barrier and were rewarded for their efforts when Elvis Hammond fired home a late equaliser for a share of the spoils. Kelly said: "We have had a bug in the club over the last week and several of the players out there today have picked it up and played through it. "But despite that I thought we finished very strongly and could have even nicked it at the end." City have now faced West Brom, Sunderland and Birmingham on their travels in their last three away league encounters, and Kelly confirmed that he had been satisfied with the performance of his side in those fixtures. He added: "We have played three of the top teams in this division in our last three away games and I think we have battled away and matched them all. But I still think we can do more. "I do feel at times that I have more faith and belief in the players than they have in themselves. But they are still an emerging group. The likes of Elvis Hammond and Gareth McAuley maybe in their mid-20s, but they have never played at places like St Andrew's, the Hawthorns or the Stadium of Light before. "I thought that Birmingham had some chances to kill us off, but we showed magnificent spirit and character to hang in there. "I think Steve Bruce is a terrific manager and I believe he will put Birmingham back in the Premiership. He has got the resources and he has bought players to get them out of this division. "We don't have that luxury, but we do what we do. We do it a different way. "I cannot be looking over the fence enviously because I wouldn't wish to work with a better bunch of human beings." And Kelly had a final word for his goalscorer. "Elvis has obviously been frustrated, and I understand that. But he has answered in the best possible way and that gives me a nice problem ahead of our next game." Andy Johnson had it? Would never have guessed, he sounded about normal by the radio commentary.
BartonFox Posted 30 September 2006 Posted 30 September 2006 How much longer are we going to have to put up with this idiot? What a prize goose.
Jay Posted 30 September 2006 Posted 30 September 2006 How much longer are we going to have to put up with this idiot? What a prize goose. maybe I am missing something but I really don't see anything wrong with those comments!!
lookwhaticando Posted 30 September 2006 Author Posted 30 September 2006 How much longer are we going to have to put up with this idiot? What a prize goose. Until a 'true fan' who goes to every game buys the club out and appoints a replacement, of course. <_< Got a few million lying around Barton?
Hullfox Posted 30 September 2006 Posted 30 September 2006 How much longer are we going to have to put up with this idiot? What a prize goose. Don't be so hard on yourself Barton

Daggers Posted 1 October 2006 Posted 1 October 2006 Kelly Post Birmingham Rob Kelly was full of praise for his battling Foxes after they shrugged off a virus to gain a point at St Andrew's on Saturday afternoon. Next weeks excuse: Wrong type of leaves on pitch or the wrong type of rain?
Joe. Posted 1 October 2006 Posted 1 October 2006 QUOTE "But the Foxes played through the pain barrier" Yeah i bet the pain was just too much for those poor players... :pinch:
shen Posted 1 October 2006 Posted 1 October 2006 Could it be that RK is too marked from being a youth trainer? I mean, it's natural to praise and back your young players, to encourage them to do better and give them belief. However, where's the point in praising players like Johnson et al when they clearly perform below par..?
Joe. Posted 1 October 2006 Posted 1 October 2006 Maybe trying to cover up the fact he signed a crap player in the first place...
Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 October 2006 Posted 1 October 2006 Moan moan moan moan Now now, if all you can do is moan...

Is that post supposed to make any sense whatsoever?? If people want to moan about the performance, fine. If people want to moan about players not performing, fine. If people want to moan about tactics, fine. They are all justified... but people just look for stuff to have a go about and it's pretty sad. Lets look at what he actually said "We have had a bug in the club over the last week and several of the players out there today have picked it up and played through it. But despite that I thought we finished very strongly and could have even nicked it at the end." Wow what shocking comments, so worthing of a thread taking another pop at him.

Granted my syntax was a little garbled, basically the gist of it being, you are a "lurker". Lying in wait to moan at the moaners!
The People's Hero Posted 1 October 2006 Posted 1 October 2006 It's cos they know we're right and they can't handle it Janx. THEY CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH. And no, it wouldn't be any better if your precious Levein was still here!
Babylon Posted 1 October 2006 Posted 1 October 2006 Granted my syntax was a little garbled, basically the gist of it being, you are a "lurker". Lying in wait to moan at the moaners! As I just pointed out, I don't have a problem with moaning that's justified.

Find one post where I stuck up for him, I may have said give the guy time you can't go round sacking people every 5 bloody minutes.
The People's Hero Posted 1 October 2006 Posted 1 October 2006 As I just pointed out, I don't have a problem with moaning that's justified. Okay then.... We're all fuc king fed up of Kelly patting himself on the back and the sheeite excuses which get trotted out week after week and have been at this club for so long!

Find one post where I stuck up for him, I may have said give the guy time you can't go round sacking people every 5 bloody minutes. 5 minutes? You're out of your depth here mate. Levein proved way before his eventual departure that he was out of his depth in Championship management, just as RK has proven thus far. You can be 'loyal' and wave your flag as much as you like, doesn't make you any less wrong.
Daggers Posted 1 October 2006 Posted 1 October 2006 diatribe diatribe pompous rant diatribe *disappears up own arse* You are such a numbnut sometimes. A tongue in cheek thread about 'yet another excuse' for a poor performance and you spit another dummy. Have you got any left or do you keep grabbing it back off the floor? Anyway, why the **** can't anyone complain about stuff? What gives you the right to dictate what people can or can not say for ****s sake?
