AjcW Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 Just been interviewed by sky sports news at the walkers on an lma coaching course. i wonder if any of the managers there or even himself popped in for a chat with aldridge. any thoughts
BigGibbo Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 No chance he's bad but not that bad! Who else was there?
Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 as far as McClaren's concerned errrr thanks but no thanks!!
Scow Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 Was Aldridge involved at West Ham when they wanted to appoint him just before he opted for Boro? Doesn't matter what we think of McClaren, he won't take on a League 1 club.

I'm pretty sure he was on SSN this week saying that he would drop below the Championship if it meant he could get back into football.....
lavrentis Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 I'm pretty sure he was on SSN this week saying that he would drop below the Championship if it meant he could get back into football..... Hope he didn't say that.
Smiffy Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 I'm pretty sure he was on SSN this week saying that he would drop below the Championship if it meant he could get back into football..... No, he said he was interested in whats happening in the leagues. Draw your own conclusions from that.
lookwhaticando Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 I'm pretty sure he was on SSN this week saying that he would drop below the Championship if it meant he could get back into football..... Tells you all you need to know about him. His credibility is shot, and he's desperately worried about his future in the game. So desperate, in fact that he's essentially issued a 'come and get me' plea to the entire football league in an attempt to get a job. If he wasn't desperate/worried, he wouldn't have said something like that.
Ozwin Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 If he comes here I think I will go support ****ing Halifax or something. No ****ing way!
daveyboy Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 McClaren ready to manage abroad He added: "It's got to be a challenge. Before I went to Middlesbrough, Sir Alex Ferguson told me 'Pick the chairman, not the club'. "And I was lucky I picked Steve Gibson, who believed in my philosophy and gave me time. "Given time, if you have got the right philosophy, you will succeed. Not Milans biggest quality i dont think...
Babylon Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 Bloody hope not. I've no time for that wally. I seem to remember many saying the same about Warnock.
Staf Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 I can honestly say i would rather have Ian Holloway than Steve McClaren we would be even more hated if he came
Shrenchel Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 Has everyone forgotten that Mclaren was actually pretty fooking good as a club manager?! League cup winner, Uefa Cup finalist, FA Cup semi-finalist, a record high finish in the top division. He's several times better than what we'll actually end up with.

Couldn't agree more, especially with the sentiment that whoever we end up with will not be as good as McClaren (unless it's Micky Admas )
thecannon Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 I wouldn't mind seeing Mclaren manager of Leicester, i think that will be brill!
Smiffy Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 We could certainly do worse. Just not too thrilled about playing defensively
