lildave3 Posted 7 June 2009 Posted 7 June 2009 Brilliant show (obviously, Mcintyre is involved) but I wish they had less guests/longer on stage. Each act just seemed to be rushed a little bit. Especially Mark Watson's.

Stewart Francis! He's BRILLIANT! Normally I hate one-line-comedy. Like Frankie Boyle's stand up doesn't interest me at all because that's all he is. But Stewart Francis just takes the piss out of it. Great.

McIntyre>Bridges>Francis>Gilbert>Watson Such a great show, and the scottish comedian was so funny. bring on the next 5 weeks

That's the biggest problem with comedy in this country - we think we're big stand up nuts but we're not really. There's a few genuine fans but most people don't care about it enough to go and actually watch good comedians so they just latch on to whoever's the big thing at the time and you get a total overload of like one individual. We had Lee Evans then we had Peter Kay and then we had, er, I can't remember and now we've got Michael McIntyre and it is annoying. But if you like comedy I'd really recommend the show to be honest. All of the acts he hosted were excellent, really. Just skip through his bits.

I agree. Have attended jongleurs on many occasions and the standard is high. There are a lot of very good american un heard of's as well.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 7 June 2009 Posted 7 June 2009 I do generally think McIntyre's a half decent comedian, I used to think he was brilliant, and can still laugh at alot of his stuff, but it's all overkill with him at the minute. Rich Hall totally outcalssed him at the last Live At The Apollo. I can almost guarantee that I'll find Gilbert funny so I'll give this a watch anyway.

Joe. Posted 7 June 2009 Posted 7 June 2009 Thought it was average. I liked the Scottish bloke, he was probably the best out of the lot. I really don't get how Mark Watson has ever made it as a successful comedian though, I've never found any of his stuff funny at all. Rhod Gilbert makes me chuckle though, even if it's just for the way he goes about his comedy. I'm sure we'll be seeing much more of him in the years to come.
