Joe. Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 Looks like talks are going to start soon between the two parties. Obviously there are some big issues to overcome first (mainly in the way of financial agreements), and I just hope that these don't get in the way of what would be one of the stand-out fights of our time. Pretty sure I heard that Mayweather wants 75% of the cut... gotta love the guy. Mayweather: "Pacquiao would be easy"
Tommeh Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 It simply HAS to happen this. Would love to see Floyd take him down.
Uncle Albert Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 It simply HAS to happen this. Would love to see Floyd take him down. Same mate - really want Mayweather to knock him out, just because a certain person is banging on about Pacquiao now he has beaten Hatton and recognising Pacquaio is Phillipino. Bore off. Money will be to strong and quick.
Samilktray Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 Cant see Mayweather winning it as easy as some seem to be making out, Pacquiao is an absolute class act.
purpleronnie Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 Could be a classic I think mayweather would be too strong.
AmericanScott Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 I'm not a huge boxing fan but this would be a mouthwatering clash. Did anyone see Mayweather on SSN this morning? He said he really wants to fight in the UK and our boxing fans are the most loyal in the sport.
Uncle Albert Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 Alot of people in the UK now really like Mayweather, wonder if Hatton's new promotion team will try and get in on this fight like De La Hoya did for Hatton Mayweather/Pacquaio?
lildave3 Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 Will be absolutely epic. Still think Pacquaio would do him.
Uncle Albert Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 Expect Money to be handing this out when he fights Pacquiao.
Matt Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 Hmmmm not sure who i'd want to win out of the Pacman and Mayweather, I think Mayweather is abit of a cock but a really classy fighter, as is the Pacman. I think Mayweather would win, just.
BoneDog Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 This fight is going to be a dream for boxing fans. I expect to see Pacquiao do this again @3.14 of video It will be harder for Pacquiao though cos Mayweather won't come forward as much as Ricky did.
Edmund Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 Pacquiao will edge it I reckon, but it's so hard to pick a certain winner in this tie because Mayweather is also a class boxer. Pacquiao seems to destroy peoples faces so easily so I'm going for the little man. Will be a great fight to watch for the neutral.
The Doctor Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 is this definately happening? worth a skipping a night's worth of sleep to see this.
BoneDog Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 This fight will be at Welterweight then I take it? Has anyone seen the Sky Sports interview with Mayweather? I can't get it to play properly yet but loading it up to have a gleg.
BoneDog Posted 17 November 2009 Posted 17 November 2009 is this definately happening? worth a skipping a night's worth of sleep to see this. I would bet me house on this being on. Hopefully in both of their next fights aswell, some people reckon they might both have another fight first, hope not. It's got to be next stop for them both surely. Can't believe Mayweather wants so much of the purse. Yes, he is in the top 15 of all time imo, but so is Pacquiao so surely it should be 50/50.
TrickyTrev Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Lets get this on. Is Wembley Stadium too much to ask?
Sparky Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 What a fight this would be and far too close to call
Uncle Albert Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 I love it that Mayweather wants 75% of the cut, money talks. Yet Pacquaio isnt really interested in the money so all good. Pacquaio knocking Hatton inside 2 rounds will mean nothing in this fight, where as when Floyd knocked Hatton out it was because he wore him down with the jabs. Really can't see Pacquaio being able to keep Floyd down, nobody is quick or good enough to out jab or throw combos than Mayweather.

I think Mayweather wanting 75%, is his way of trying to get out of fighting Pacquiao. Mayweather not a bigger draw then Pacquiao now anyway. I think more people are intrested in Pacquiao then Mayweather. Also Mayweather didn't offer that much in the Hatton fight, yeah he knocked him out but the first 4 - 5 rounds Hatton was asking the questions. Like Roach says, Mayweather can run around the ring all he wants but it won't work against Pacquiao. Pacquiao is just as quick if not quicker then Mayweather and Roach will have Pacquiao fighting a way to which Mayweather will struggle to contern with. Pacquiao gave Hatton the worst beating of his enitre life, in 2 rounds. Roach said it would last no longer then 3 and he was right. I can Mayweather getting knocked out. He won't be able to cope with the speed and power of Pacquiao.

Why not? Basically you're saying because Pacquiao defeated Hatton with greater ease than Floyd it shouldn't matter. Love it how the excuses are being made already. What a ridiculous statement.

This is the reason Mayweather came out of retirement to become pound for pound best in the world again. Mayweather didnt offer much because Hatton came at him and still couldnt get anywhere near Floyd, Mayweather let Hatton where himself out and then as soon as Hatton tired, Floyd turned it on and knocked him out, you could see in the previous 2 rounds of the fight before the KO it was coming. Yeah Pacquiao knocked him out in two but I still think if Floyd went at Hatton with the same tactics then he would of done the same as Pacquiao, either way if these two fight each other it's going to be amazing and the build up will be awesome. I bet Shane Mosely is livid that he has again got to wait for Mayweather, what a bum Mosely is.
Samilktray Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Mayweather not wanting to fight Pacquiao is 1 of the most retarded things I've ever read.
