Logan is very good, should have given it just to her.

It's quite interesting / depressing to go on google street view on pretty much any major thoroughfare in any large town or city in the midlands or northern England, and click back to previous years' views. The decline even from about 7-8 years ago is quite visible, as you say to almost third world levels.

As a non Leicesterian I would say it's far from the worst place I've been in Britain. Some of the suburbs are quite nice and the town centre is ok-ish compared to some places. Then the walk to the ground from the town centre is not as dystopian as some grounds I've been to. I don't get the best introduction coming in from the east on the A47. The preceding villages are very nice and then suddenly you arrive at Humberstone Park and the surrounding area which looks increasingly squalid, rubbish everywhere.

How would you feel if Forest won the league and could it happen?
bovril replied to Walshy5's topic in Leicester City Forum
Same. I used to hate Forest more than any other club but I hate the big six far more now for the role they've played in ruining elite English football. Having said that Forest are dodgy and have spent loads so it's not exactly be a fairy tale. But I still think it's good to break up the monopoly on the CL places every so often. -

I'm not sure how relevant it is to talk about the Overton window anymore at a time of media fragmentation, social media etc. People are exposed to such a wide range of quite extreme views now from what we'd typically think of as both right and left. At the same time the tone of political discourse has totally changed, which is also a consequence of social media. Certainly some views that I would have considered quite extreme 10-15 years ago have become normalised, but then the world has totally changed from that time anyway. So maybe it's just that the window has got wider, not shifted.

Maybe. I think a few times it's been drawn a couple of days after the games. And I also remember more than once the draw being advertised as live on YouTube at a particular time and then it starting like 30-40 minutes late. Nobody really pays attention to the Carabao so it's not beyond the realms of possibility.
-
It would be relatively easy to tamper with the balls in some way that the drawers knew who they were taking out. Or, with draws that take place like a day after the final game (1st round I think does, and the league cup?) you could very easily pre-record and edit something. It really wouldn't be that hard to fix it. I don't think it is fixed purely for the fact I think one of the ex players who have done it would spill the beans at some point. But it's quite funny reading people talking about it like it's some Kubrick-filmed-the-moon-landing conspiracy.

I find I don't get a decent fork full when I snap it in half, and it looks better when normal length

Unsure whether to like this post or not because I agree with the sentiment but disappointed with the Americanisms

And maybe our most technically gifted player of that era isn't listed here. I still think Parker might be the best dead ball player I've seen at Leicester, maybe one of the best I've seen in the PL full stop. His perfectly flighted free kicks and corners were responsible for some of our most iconic goals in those years - Grayson vs Wimbledon, Claridge's two late winners, Walsh vs Arsenal. Superb player. Sinclair was also a very good, tough tackling defender unfortunately remembered for his own goals. Guy would tackle a brick wall if asked to. Zagorakis went on to captain his country to Euros glory. Ullathorne was pretty good when not injured, which was rare. Keller was an excellent shot stopper and Arphexhad a good deputy. A great collection of players, brilliantly organized, no wonder we had so much success.

I understand why people feel like that but in 2015 we had never won one of the 2 major domestic trophies, or played at the highest level of European football. So all of that team are legends for me, especially Kante who was so insanely good that year. But sure, there are no objectively correct answers.
-
I know this is all very subjective but you cannot say Drinkwater is a legend and Kante is not.
-
Kante's one season with us is the stuff of legend. We'll be boring our grandkids with stories of it in 40 years.
-
I doubt it'd be that difficult to be fair.

I love how Americans call players "weapons". "He's such a weapon, Mitch". "That's right Tom. He was a weapon in college and he's a weapon now in the pro's". "Absolutely Mitch, a total weapon."

well shit

It's a shame that the FA are denying impoverished minnows like Leicester the chance of a lucrative replay at big clubs like Brighton and Bournemouth
-
It's always been the case that lower league teams want to play away at big teams, it's not a new thing. And I'm sure Tamworth would love to have won, tbh they came close at the end, but definitely a replay is better than going to extra time when the advantage will massively be with the PL team and their superior fitness.
-
Great performance by Tamworth. Winning lots of 50/50s.

I think a lot of it comes down to Brits not really trusting or even understanding countries who don't speak English.
