  1. Outside of anything involving teams I support, I've never quite got over Ghana's loss to Uruguay in 2010. I was watching it with 2 friends of Ghanaian heritage, and it was heartbreaking.
  2. Yeah maybe you're right. There's no tangible reason why there'd need to be this kind of intricate background given to bran or the NK. I do think that the writers leaving it where it is implies an expectation of a very uncurious and easily satisfied audience, so I would still be surprised if there wasn't more to it (especially with 4 hours or so left). But there's no specific reason why you wouldn't be right.
  3. The woman on the BBC News channel just said this a second ago - I'm guessing that that's where this came from. My guess is that she misunderstood and was referring to the Director of Football (who, it seems, wasn't on board anyway). Pretty amateur mistake though and is how misleading rumours can start. Not good enough from them at a truly emotionally crippling time for a lot of us.
  4. Huge thank you to the guys in Legends today for making a Fox, a long way from home, feel very welcome! Loved all your stories and I'll 100% be seeing you again next time work send me off to the Big Apple

  6. Great choice - I was at uni there for three years and miss the place like mad. Having been there as a student, I'm best placed to recommend places to drink The House of Trembling Madness is a really interesting place to go for a drink. If you want to get silly drunk, go for a Shed 7 at Evil Eye (costs a tenner, but you won't need much more for a while afterwards!) There are some decent places along the river - quite a range too. Revs is decent in the day with a big-ish outdoor bit if the weather is nice, and the same for Pitcher & Piano. But if you want cheap treble vodkas, you're looking at Lowther or Stone Roses (great place). Micklegate has a load of places too. In terms of food, Kennedy's used to be really nice. I think they changed the menu up a few times and it's been a wile since I was around, but it never let me down at the time. Classic York things to see would be The Shambles, Stonegate, the Minster, the Castle, Clifford's Tower, Jorvik (Viking) Centre, York Dungeons... etc etc Hope this helps. If it doesn't, I'm happy for the excuse to take a trip down memory lane anyway!

  8. Two that I don't think have been mentioned on here yet. 1) I work in recruitment, and the amount of times I hear people talking about a "job role". After years of hearing this linguistic monstrosity, it still really grates my cheese. But then I ignore it and go to speak to an 'employer boss' about their potential new 'employee worker'. 2) "Can you itch my back?" I mean, come on. An itch is the sensation. A sensation that is stopped by scratching. Scratching your back would be a lot more useful, and is actually a verb that is possible to perform.

  10. I've never really watched this before, but my girlfriend put it on last night and saw someone on it that I used to work with - Josh Denzel (not his real surname). Josh is a pretty sound guy. Has an absolute banger of a job now - cruising round the world interviewing sportspeople for the Lad Bible, as I understand it. Seen videos of him with Marcus Rashford and that just pissing about and chatting.

  13. Justin Kluivert is 18 years old, and has now notched up 26 league appearances - scoring 8 goals and assisting 5. Being involved in a goal every 2 games at his age is a good start, and could be one hell of an investment. On the flip side, Eredevise records can be misleading when applying it to the PL. Equally, I probably wouldn't have even thought of him if it wasn't for his surname (though Kasper is evidence that that's not always a bad thing). Could be worth considering though, with Mahrez probably on his way out.
