We're 7 games into a shocking start to the season and our captain is still yet to do a single post match interview on LCFC TV. I'm not sure who decides which player does the post match interview but in previous seasons Wes & Kasper would always face the music after a few of poor performances. Brentford - Castagne Arsenal - Praet Southampton - Vardy Stockport - Iversen (Evans didn't play this one so can be let off) Chelsea - Castagne Man Utd - Thomas Brighton - Daka Seems alarming that only 1 of the 'leadership group' has been interviewed, and 3 of them have been with Rodgers' scapegoats (Castagne seems to be this season's scapegoat for Brendan for reasons unknown)

Presumably Top would get rid of Brendan face to face, so there's a chance the delay is simply in him flying over to the UK?

It’s Sunday night and I’ve been refreshing twitter for the last 5 hours, I’ve got to find some reason to get excited!

It feels telling that the club haven’t put any post match content out on twitter other one post thanking the fans. No interviews, no LCFC TV videos. Also I can’t see anything posted by any of the players. This radio silence feels ominous

Why would he sign a new contract at a club where the manager openly scapegoats him and refuses to play him? This squad nears a spark and Soyuncu returning to the XI could well do that if he can roll the years back

Post the highs of the 15/16 season and 16/17 UCL run, there's definitely a spark lost for me. Football is never going to get any better than the 15/16 season! Even if we were to (somehow) ever win the league again it'd never match the surprise and madness of that season

The biggest factor that plays into our favour is the world cup imo. The break it provides will essentially create two mini seasons and that'll be massive for us. We can go away during the world cup, most of the squad won't be playing internationally so should be able to get a camp together to hammer out the issues and kick on from January. The quality in the players is undoubtedly there, it's about us playing in a manner to utilise that quality. FWIW, I think we'll pull away from relegation before December anyway

It has to be Iheanacho and Vardy as a 2 for me - a partnership that has got us out of poor form before and we know it works! The challenge is what we do with Barnes because he doesn't fit the diamond system, so maybe he's the impact sub from the bench (providing Brendan remembers he has substitutes to use)

He was always going to play an experienced side in this one, and don’t mind playing the likes of Soyuncu, Praet, Iheanacho with a point to prove. Only one for me is - he had an opportunity to send a message to Vestergaard by picking an academy CB next to Soyuncu. A “get out of the club, you’re never going to get a chance to prove yourself here” sort of message

If that is the starting team, I’d read that as Albrighton at RB and a narrow diamond in midfield

First half we were excellent I thought, held our own when going toe to toe. Second half, we tired a bit but even so the only thing beating us tonight was that wonder strike. On another day, we get at least a draw if not more. Promising signs for next season
