  1. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/massive-study-finds-no-single-genetic-cause-of-same-sex-sexual-behavior/ I don't disagree with you, I certainly don't believe it's a choice, I would say more a predisposition with aligning personality traits such as openness to experience, and some peripheral social influences.
  2. the freedom of your speech ultimately lies with whomever holds the power in that instance, whether that be law makers, technology platform owners or moderators on a forum.
  3. Wait until you find out, although I've been "in trouble" for stating this before, that ALL the largest and latest studies show that sexuality is only 8-25% genetic (25 being the absolute maximum although probably less), along with hormonal, environmental and social influences. It will blow your mind.
  4. Apologies, I missed the question. I would have to look for that answer, but of course it's going to be a rare occurrence.
  5. I don't accept the notion that conformity to, shall we say, the historically accepted norms that created the culture is a privilege. The same way I don't accept white privilege as a construct, if a white man goes to china he doesn't have "white privilege", so then what is it, "chinese privilege"? What you're describing is majority privilege, which is essentially part of living in YOUR culture, that's what culture was designed for, why would you construct it if it didn't benefit you? I don't accept that it's a "privilege" per se to be heterosexual, it's the natural outcome of aligning with the historical normalcies that created our culture. The topic of immutable qualities is one we can't have freely I don't feel.
  6. Everybody is privileged in different ways, you may be born good looking, you may be born with a higher IQ, you may be born with a set of personality traits that makes success more likely, you may be born athletic, you may be born to a wealthy family, you may be born to a loving family, you could be born with any myriad of "privileges", to distil it down to race, sexuality and gender just demonstrates the narrow minded, ideologically obsessed focus of the radical left. The idea that you can target an ethnic, or gender-based group with a collective crime or claim of privilege regardless of the specific innocence or situation of the constituent elements of that group is abhorrent, there is nothing more racist or prejudicial than that.
  7. "white, straight male privilege" hehe.
  8. Everything around you that you see was built on the back of "traditional society", I don't think it should be so casually denigrated, but that's a personal opinion. Sure, people like the appearance of virtue more than they like the work that earns true virtue. It's essentially narcissistic posturing, posting a black square, changing a profile picture to a Ukraine flag, wearing an armband, it's empty platitudes engaged in to make the person feel better about themselves. I'm not incredibly progressive to be fair, that's a valid point. We have a pretty inclusive and tolerant society as it is, I feel.
  9. If only it was wearing hats with rainbows on, fine, but it's far more than that. It's tearing down statues, defunding police, shutting down dissenting views, undermining the nuclear family, deracinating society. It's drag queen story hours, it's 99 genders, it's use my pronouns or it's a hate crime. It's let children that are too young to understand the construct choose their gender without input from parents. It's the complete degradation of traditional society, while people that want to appear virtuous (without doing the work necessary to earn) clap and cheer in the name of progressivism.
  10. Possibly not directly, but the underlying ideology is one of destroy capitalism, smash the patriarchy and propagate white guilt. It's naïve or even disingenuous, to not acknowledge that most of these movements have an insidious, trojan horse element to them. Remember, as Greta tells us, there is no back to normal, normal was the system which gave us the climate crisis, a system of colonialism, imperialism, oppression, genocide, of racist, oppressive extractionism.
  11. it's the very definition of political, imagine if some enlightened country had come to the UK in the 1950s lauding their supposedly moral virtuosity over us. The flags have been coopted by a subset of the movement, and to promote a radical left wing, ultra libertarian agenda. Are you telling me that the flags flying during pride MONTH in the UK are "to raise awareness to those without the proper education to understand the people in the community".
  12. who decides what political statements are permissible or not?
  13. I don't think it's our job to impose our moral values on other countries, especially not one who's morality comes from a place of religion. It's less than a lifetime ago that our country was doing exactly what we're pontificating against now.
  14. Yeah granted they've given us all that, and Ikea, and pickled herrings, but other than that, what have the Scandinavians ever done for us?
  15. what have the Scandinavians ever given us?

socialism is uglier than capitalism imo, generally they don't truly care about the poor and disadvantaged, they're just envious of the wealthy, even if fairly attained. I know you'll read this and think "that's not me", but look hard in the mirror, are you genuinely virtuous or do you like the appearance of virtue without doing the work necessary to truly warrant it?
  18. you mean to tell me, in all honesty, that an egg fried this rice?
  19. would take him back in a heartbeat, I may be a hypocrite but 1 point in 7 games wouldn't seem as awful under him as it does now
  20. my mates the ref
  21. but what if he did, it's a valid thought exercise that helps you flesh out your opinion. IF this season we surged in to the top 10 and won the FA cup and League cup would you still never go?
  22. it's slightly hyperbolic, but unless there's a grand revelation or big changes, it won't be that far off.
  23. yes obviously, but I don't think he has the capability to.
  24. got the mince cooking on the stove? Brendan will be running past any minute
  25. I prefer the brentmeister general
