Swansea are absolutely there for a thrashing, but that only happens with Cannon on, maybe Yunus too. We are sleep walking into a 1-1 at this rate.

I'd like another CM in who has a lot of physicality, strong in the air in both boxes and likes to get stuck in. I fear we will miss Ndidi more now with Casadei gone back. Sensi and one more plz Top!

I wanted him to stay in the summer as I thought he would take this opportunity and boss this league as our No.9. I was wrong. Sell him now and get him off the books. Cannon, Daka and Vardy are all ahead of him.

I'll never understand the desire to include 10 yard sideway/backward passes under no pressure at all, in these types of videos. I'd prefer a video 50% shorter but with actual contributions/skills shown. Bah humbug -
This guy is a player! He just needs more game time, in a balanced team. Unfortunately, I think it will much the same in the league and he will struggle for game time.

Wrexham, so we can be on their TV show smashing them 9-0 -
It didn't come across as sarcasm, but it's hard to say. I think Parker will be taking over from Klopp in the summer though, so the ship has sailed on that one.

Is he going to be our Championship Cambiasso?

Keep saying this, but I do think we would be in a far better position if Scott Parker had taken over last summer.

Can we have these bullet pointed, easy to read, spot on post match summaries after every game plz! Saves me scrolling -
The one who has been given way more game time? I think Yunus hasn't really been given much chance to settle or get up to speed since his move. I would have liked to see him more often as he looks a decent player. Difficult when the regular starting 11 are on a record breaking season though. I think he will continue to struggle for game time and I suspect many have already written him off.

It is incredible to be on a record breaking season and sitting clear at the top of the league but still see potential red flags for the future with Enzo, but if you pay enough attention, they are there in the background. I don’t really doubt how talented Enzo is. You only have to listen to the players to know how good he is, and despite tonight and some other iffy performances, we really are flying under his control. My growing concern is his stubbornness and potential lack of flexibility even if things start to go wrong. This may get tested more in the coming months and I just hope he is able to recognise this himself and adjust, which is something Bodgers never did and sorely cost us.

That’s exactly what you are. Take it as a compliment if some (keyword, some!) of our fans are wound up by your good form and continued push for automatic promotion despite your perceived squad quality. I am also not really sure what you expected to find on here right after we conceded an 89th minute equaliser, with a big dose of Deja Vu from our last game with you. Frustration and lashing out is exactly what you would find on any Forum with a last minute late equaliser. Come back tomorrow when we’ve slept on it 😆 -
Looking at that midfield today, and who came on, we were sorely missing Ndidi's physicality. Doesn't even need to be a DCM for us, just being on the pitch means we have someone who can battle in both boxes. Feels like we need another CM as well as Sensi, who has Ndidi's physicality, especially in the air at both ends. Unfortunately, I don't trust that Ndidi will stay fit for the remaining games.

Nasty git Warnock on the touchline, but you can't not like him! Old skool

I wasn't at the game, but many commented on how we were passing longer tonight with no success, and that we likely would have done better if we had kept the ball with our usual style. I have noticed this in a few of our recent games, where we have struggled to control the ball like we used to, and started to become a bit erratic with longer balls. I suspect Enzo still wants us to play his way, but the players are just starting to lose some confidence and Enzo's system only really works if the players are full of confidence and willing to play those intricate passes around the back.

Smacks of desperation from Poch. I also think it is unprofessional from Chelsea to recall a player that is developing here and very likely won't be the answer for them. I won't be surprised if he features from the bench once or twice and is then quickly dropped and doesn't play again for them. As long as we get Sensi and another more physical CM to cover Ndidi, then I think we won't have lost much from this decision by Chelsea. The player himself will likely have lost most from this. EDIT: Just read further up that it could be because he didn't play enough minutes. Makes more sense now why Enzo persisted with him early on, where he was clearly struggling. Still think he was developing well here with the games he was getting. Chelsea should have let him stay. Might work out best for us though if we work some magic in this window.

Combination of things, including a stubborn Enzo in managing in game tactics and (not!) making substitutions, as well as players lacking quality in the final third, and most worryingly, an increasing mentality to try hold onto leads in the 2nd half, as opposed to what we were doing earlier in the season and exhausting teams with our passing, and scoring many late goals in the 2nd half to finish off games with relative ease. I can see a fear creeping in of not wanting to lose and throw away our huge points lead in the table. Constantly hearing that we are walking this league and have a Premier League squad who shouldn't be here etc, on top of being relentlessly chased by teams below, can take its toll. That is why I think Top really needs to get us TWO quality signings in this window and we need to treat this period as a bit of a reset and a mentality switch so that we can get our swagger back and try to dominate and exhaust teams with our superior players and style. Everything at the moment feels a bit wishy washy and meh, and I can't help feel that is because Enzo seems a little too nice and OK with our poor performances, and that mentality has started creeping into the players. I'd like to see more aggression, some nastiness and real arrogance to dominate and humiliate teams. It won't always work, but I can't help think that tonight was a perfect opportunity to bully Ipswich, similar to what Leeds did to them, and we just didn't even try. We got our goal and just let them play their ways back into the game the moment the 2nd half kicked off. We must find some aggression, arrogance and swagger, if we are to maintain this gap to Southampton and Ipswich.
-
Just feels like we are losing momentum and our swagger a little bit. I think two decent signings would provide a much needed boost to our squad. Get this one done and then one more, another CM, with a real physical presence and decent in the air for defence and attack. We can't afford to not have cover for Ndidi.

Enzo is doing a fantastic job and the players talk glowingly about his methods, and what we have achieved so far should not be sniffed at. I'm happy he is our Manager, but… I have noticed that he seems a little bit too content with some of our losses and draws and I can’t help think there is a mentality growing in the squad that is lacking a ruthlessness. Listening to Justin today pre match, he was suggesting if we don’t get anything today then it won’t define our season. He’s correct of course, but I hear Enzo talking like this often too, and I think it encourages a ‘Just grateful to be in this position’ and ‘We’ll be OK’ attitude, worryingly similar to Bodger’s last year which also permeated throughout the squad and made us a bit of a soft touch. We are also missing a few nasty players in the squad, who will bully the opposition and our own players if needed! The quality of our squad alone should keep us in the top 2, but I’d like to see Enzo and the players start to sound more ruthless and aggressive in how we are going to achieve this promotion. Games like tonight are more about mentality than tactics or opposition. A couple of red flags are emerging in that regard and we need Enzo and the players to get on top of them before it becomes an even bigger issue. Still confident when we have Ndidi and Fatuwa back, on top of a new CM, we will get over the line, but we may make hard work of it unless we find that ruthless swagger needed. -
Not a great sign for Chelsea recalling a player like Casadei. Mixed feelings on his early departure. He certainly was the weak link in a handful of games, but he was showing signs of making an impact for us. Unfortunately, despite his physical attributes, he always seemed a step or two slow, physically and mentally when reading the game. I do think we will miss his aerial ability, especially with Ndidi out. Overall, I didn't think he would be worth keeping after the end of his loan, but this is not great timing for us. Hopefully, we have one or two coming in.

Anyone got a ready made GIF of a Cannon firing a Daka?

If Leeds come through those games still full steam ahead, then we definitely have a battle on our hands. However, if we kick on from this great result yesterday, then hopefully it won't matter too much what these teams below us do. We are more than capable of going on a decent run now, with players back fit and a nice run of fixtures. I think key to our success over December, will be Cannon getting involved and instantly impressing and other fringe players like Akgun and Praet contributing. I'm feeling much more positive after this game though. Feels like the players were getting edgy and a bit of confidence had gone, but to win in that manner and against a very decent team and Manager, no doubt will have done us a lot of good! The celebrations at the end felt like that too. Game on!
