The problem with a Manager like Russell, is that his system/tactics can only really work with a squad like Man City, who have world class players on the ball. At pretty much any other level (bar a few exceptions) or with any other team, players are just not skilled enough to pass it around and out of the back, or keep a suicidal high line, without severe consequences (aka goals!). You would think he had worked that out by now, but it seems even Leicester in League 1 will again be a lesson not learned for him. The only positive I can take right now, is that I believe we did indeed have a good transfer window and we do have a balanced squad and players more than good enough to boss this league, so that when we do inevitably change Managers, anyone taking over will have a ready made squad for promotion (if not too late by then!)

I read that too, but I suspect Souttar did have desires to leave especially with strong interest from Sheffield United early on, but RM probably convinced him otherwise since. I was actually pretty shocked how poor he was in first couple of games, but hope he really steps up now and stands out as the best CB in the league, which he really should be at this level. Who do we partner him with though? O'Hora or Kangasniemi? Do we sit Faes and Okoli out until January if they stay? Not ideal.

Percy reported in August that Souttar had informed Leicester of his desire to leave, and just my own impression of someone who Captained Australia in the World Cup, now playing in League 1. He may have already made peace with it, but I still think giving him the Captain's armband, which he reportedly excelled in the role for Australia, could help his motivation for being here - being club Captain is still a big honour.

Agree to disagree then. Of course you can have leaders without the armband, but I still wouldn't have had anyone other than Wes Morgan as Captain during our Premier League win.

Have you played in team sports? Who your captain is can make a big difference on and off the field, especially with a talented group of young players in the squad.

I am not convinced Souttar is that happy to still be here and playing in League 1, but for that reason I would actually give him the Captain's armband, as it might give him that extra bit of motivation to settle down now and set an example for others. Chaplin is a decent shout too, and I don't actually believe he will be a sick note type player as others are presuming, and so will play plenty of games for us. Either are good, but Souttar gets the nod from me.

No excuses now for RM. We should be bossing this league from now on. The players we have signed, along with our talented youngsters, should be more than enough to finish in the top 2.

was quite shocked how poor Souttar was in first few games, but a bit better last night. I agree though, these two starting and then giving Kangasniemi games whenever possible. Surely, one of Okoli and Faes still departs, but I'd still have Okoli as 4th choice and possibly even Faes, depending on how the other three do. Faes on paper is technically our best CB, but I still think we will be better suited with these 3 ahead of him.

I will give them 10-15 games before judging either way. I think Chaplin and Burns will turn out alright, but Cullen is looking a weird one.

The most important thing is his body language on the pitch, and it sucks! I don't want that kind of energy on the pitch, especially when we have so many talented youngsters in the squad now.

True, but I have watched him time after time throw his hands in the air and look to blame his team mates when we concede a goal, often due to his mistake. I may never have met him or trained with him, but you can tell a lot by someone’s body language, and not forgetting, he has been utterly turd! Get rid.

Will be brave and great of RM to not start him or Okoli. On paper they should be much better than they actually are. Leicester fans know how bad they are, even at this level, so I hope RM sees it too. Still a glimmer of hope that one or both go to a Turkish or Saudi club.

Gutted we are stuck with him and Okoli, as Faes is actually a negative character to have around too. I hope we can still ship them off to Turkey or Saudi, but won't be easy.

I think dropping to League 1 actually helped us get rid of a lot of these big ego nobbers. They were just about happy enough to sit around in the Championship, but not in League 1. I am so happy to see the back of so many of them. Just need Faes out now.

I hope so! It will have been a great window if we get rid of him too.
