  1. Shouldn’t this be locked?
  2. if these players are going, or activity being sought moves away from the club, then surely that suggests we are after bringing in more than just lookman!?
  3. just watched it and thought the exact same thing. He's quick, good at short passing in and around the box, with the players we have and the way we play we might complement his skill set a bit more than Fulham
  4. given the timing of this today, i just feel they may be trying to get someone in as well. Loan with option probably wont have cost that much.
  5. Is one winger enough though? i know just getting one in would be fantastic, and we shouldn't be greedy. But!! as we've seen with the defence, one injury to this new winger and the squad is back to where it is now! surely two would be the ideal situation. a permanent signing and a loan maybe. we've just signed vestergaard and he's now out, and we are back to where we were defence wise before he signed.
  6. Haven’t Liverpool signed Kounate? The CB from Salzburg?
  7. having seen some of the training vids on youtube, while not as tall as wilf or bouba, he does look like a bit of a beast, pretty well built, wont have much trouble putting himself about
  8. Yeah i get that. but it is an experience in his life, and he wont just have forgot that his previous move didn't work as he had planned. but i appreciate that he will be supremely confident after the couple of years he's had with us, and will no doubt think he can hold down a place in any of the European elite first teams
  9. you think almost call his bluff, and say you haven't signed so you're forcing our hand to get the best deal for you which based on your current contract is now, and you can go to the highest bidder, which might actually be a bit shit for your career!? not really the owners style, but i can see where you're coming from with that.
  10. One thing that makes me wonder about Youri, despite all the media noise around him, is what affect that Monaco move had on him. he left a club where he was a key player and it really fell apart for a couple of years. we as fans will never now what his thought process around another move might be, and if those doubts creep in about leaving a team where he is an integral part, for a team that he needs to establish himself in, and there may be risk of management change, high player turn over, the ability of said new team to bring in further stars in his position window on window. I'm not suggesting it will make him stay for ever, but i do wonder if it will make him consider a move more closely and that it really has to be the right move for his career rather than just jumping ship because a big name club makes an offer. or he may just bounce at the first sign of an established CL team, who knows what goes on in that head of his, other than no look passes and 30 yard screamers.
  11. Just a fantastic player and leader! Always left everything on the pitch and am thankful we had his best years. Will always be remembered for those iconic moments in our history and throughly deserves the praise and admiration he’s getting. Legend gets over used at times, but this guy will be a player talked about for many years to come.
  12. ok, but that doesn't explain why what i said about me not understanding how people how time in their lives to be bothered about this, is a stupid comment!? as fair as i'm concerned what his does away from the pitch is his business. he hasn't broken the law. maybe a factory that boohoo may or may not use might have. to bring all that back to JM seems a bit much for me. and i stand by my comment, who as time or energy to get bent out of shape about this sort of stuff. family, friends, jobs, hobbies, all rank way higher. and what has me watching the players celebrate on youtube or twitter got to do with anything? unless you are trying to play the holier than thou real fan angle and someway suggest i'm some kind of plastic for not caring.
  13. Nailed it
  14. Please enlighten me?
  15. i cant believe people have enough time in their lives to give this much of a shit about what he is doing off the pitch!
  16. with you! just seemed a bit of an odd thing to add to tweet
  17. why is it important that he is Paris born and bred?
  18. Shocking really that it could happen
  19. He is very good on the ‘under the cosh’ pod cast. Talks about how did didn’t want to leave us and wanted to be part on Nigel’s promotion push back to the champo. Basically he explains how he signed his contract extension, then months later was asked to sign another copy, as one was missing a signature. Then when relegated he found the copy of his contract the club had included a 50% relegation salary reduction. The copy his agent and him had didn’t. mandaric wouldn’t back down and basically enforced the reduction. thats why he stayed until the June, because the new salary started in the July. He tried for months to work with the club to come to an agreement, as other squad members had their salary reductions waived to keep them at the club. manadric basically stitched him up and he couldn’t stay for what they were paying him. Sad really, because he seems to have really love the club and really wanted the right the wrongs of the previous year. It’s on YouTube, under the cosh podcast, worth a watch, talks very openly about it all.
  20. i never got to see him play, far to young, but my dad would always tell me he was one of the best he ever watched for us. thoughts and love to his family. RIP Frank.
  21. was reported he's on £300k a week, even at 40% thats a significant wage to take on.
  22. BR said they'd already looked at the U23's and none impressed enough to be brought in to the first team at this time. pretty damming really, but there you go
  23. This whole thread/topic is the epitome of where we are as a club. not quite able to keep that second quality striker happy, just yet. a very good 15 of 16, but once injuries and suspensions kick in the gaps in the squad become clearer, but that's not to say that the supporting cast aren't good enough to step up, its just that prolonged use tends to cost points. this is the next step we are working on taking to mix it consistently at the top of the league. yesterday was frustrating, but leeds could beat anyone on their day, unfortunately it was us that got it. there was a stat last week that only Man city and liverpool had taken more premier league points since BR had arrived. we're on the right path, its just going to take time to address the points raised.
  24. i would imagine the attacking player that Rodgers said we would spend all weekend working on probably isn't going to happen.
