  1. Absolutely astonishing that some on here have the gall to call Italy cheats after sterling and kane's egregious dives both last night and against Denmark. The delusion and hypocrisy of some England fans never ceases to amaze. Better team won.
  2. Always funny when English pundits try to get high and mighty over a perceived lack of integrity in other sides (almost always Southern European or Latin American). They must be blind to the state of the PL and their own national team. 2018 highlighted the hypocrisy perfectly. After lambasting Panama for trying to kick off before the whistle had gone, England went on to try this
  3. Disgraceful really. Spurs didn't even look bothered but still coasted it.
  4. The only thing that's laughable is you believing that half of FT knows our starting 11 but the oppo dugout are in the dark Funny you mention them with the whole Bielsa spygate business. Not sure why he'd bother with all that and paying a £200k fine if it made zero difference. And yeah I appreciate that the margins are tiny and there are bigger fish to fry with the super league but I can understand why it gets on people's nerves. It can only possibly hurt us and it provides zero benefit, so why is it happening?
  5. Agreed. But why should they get to know our team at all? Almost all the arguments I've seen in favour of leaking the team are along the lines of 'it probably won't make a difference.' Sure, in each individual game the probability is that it won't. But if it even cost us 1 or 2 points a season that would be a ridiculous state of affairs. And for what? What do we gain out of it? The other one I've seen is 'we've played the same team for the last X games.' Okay? And what happens when we don't have a settled side? When there a number of different options and knowing who's starting gives away whether we're looking to play wide/narrow etc? Don't tell me these accounts will be using their discretion like that, they'll leak it just the same.
  6. Yes, what possible difference could it make? So what if they get 5x the length of time to study our team and make adjustments to their tactics or teamtalks? We still get an hour to look at theirs after all. Although of course at that point we've submitted our teamsheet and can't make any personnel changes. But still, 60 minutes compared to their 180, or their several hours, or sometimes the whole day before. We're not at that much of a disadvantage! Anyway, I'm sure it doesn't even help to know exactly who you're playing the night before. It's not like we're playing in the top echelons of football with the best tacticians or that the margins are so slim that owners are willing to spend millions of pounds on anything that could give their team even the slightest edge. What's everyone so worried about? Think of what we gain in return. We get to know which players we're cheering on a day before we see them on the pitch! It's a fantastic trade off!
  7. I just don't think it's outrageous to suggest that most players, when scoring on their debut, wouldn't expend the effort to make a dig at their old club. Think Demarai is more the exception than the rule in that case. Anyway, like you say it's no use getting riled up about it, was more just an amusing observation than anything else.
  8. I don't think anyone has a problem with him celebrating a goal whatsoever. However, I don't think a celebration that's supposed to be a slight on his time here (if 'shackles off' is in fact what he's trying to say) backs up this suggestion of him as being ultra professional and humble, that's all. I hope he continues to get goals but I don't think we'll miss him in the slightest.
  9. You were saying?
  10. Well you're less ignorant than me because I didn't know they were. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_fraud_in_association_football A cursory glance at this, however, suggests that the NFF have a bit of a chequered past so that might have something to do with it.
  11. Have a vague recollection of a Nigerian poster on here saying that it was highly unlikely that Wilf is actually as young as he claims to be and that he's probably in his late twenties at this point. Hard to know how much to take from that alone but coupled with this report from 2013, which lists him among a number of players who failed an age test, I don't think we should be surprised if he declines slightly earlier than expected. Will have to enjoy his performances in the meantime though because he's absolutely crucial to our success at the moment.
  12. I don't want to scapegoat him but it's incorrect to say there was 'nothing wrong' with his performance. In the first half he made a terrible backpass that put them in on goal and if Amartey hadn't kept his head so well we could easily have gone one down.
  13. As soon as Iheanacho grabbed the ball for the penalty it was like watching a film you've seen too many times. I'm thoroughly Brendan in but it really is concerning that our games can feel so predictable and fatalistic.
  14. What? They paid £70m for a keeper who can barely catch a ball. I suppose you could argue that Kepa has 'substantial talent' but that is not the same as being world class, far from it. How any Leicester fan can think that a transfer fee accurately determines a player's pedigree after we sold Harry Maguire for £80m+ is absolutely beyond me
  15. One of the best full backs in the world was by far and away the weakest player in Leicester City's backline? What does that mean for the others then? Is Ricardo better than Cafu? It's fair to say that he received some undue criticism while he was here but we don't need to go the other way with this kind of ridiculous revisionism.
  16. Actually when Mahrez first arrived he displaced Lloyd Dyer from the left wing pretty quickly. Knockaert was playing on the other side. You're right though that in our first premiership season Mahrez spent a fair amount of time on the bench, which iirc was mostly due to a lack of defensive contribution at a time when we were on the back foot in almost every game. Regarding Under, are there seriously people that don't like what they see? Our only wide player that provides a sense of anticipation when they get the ball.
  17. Wouldn't they have to buy out his contract? He's on obscene money.
  18. Good point haha Still remember their fans declaring it a travesty in 2016 that 'the best team in the league' were going to finish second. Then they finished third.
  19. Yes, that World Cup really highlighted the contrast between undignified foreign cheating and the good honest English integrity...
  20. Hope the moronic comparisons to Ghezzal have been put to bed now.
  21. Absolutely top drawer. Credit to Leeds they worked their socks off but could still only manage a single (and very fortunate) goal against our injury ravaged defence. Speaking of which, the more I see of Fofana, the more I'm reminded of the Kante signing. Looks like he could be, in the genuine sense of the term, world class. Hope Bielsa and Co enjoy their tear soaked hovis.
  22. Seen lots of Man City fans complaining that he didn't look bothered today (or, indeed, in lots of other games). It's funny that when he plays against us, no one could ever fault him for lacking effort or appearing unmotivated. Personally, I don't understand the indiscriminate hate that lots of our former players seem to get (Maguire, Chilwell etc.) but in the case of Mahrez it really isn't hard to see why people harbour resentment.
  23. Looks like a diamond. At least I hope so because I'd rather not see Madders on the wing.
  24. He also lost his place to Neil Taylor on a fair few occasions. Villa fans aren't even convinced they want to see him start next season and that tells you all you need to know.
