  1. vestergarde and kristiansen both playing 90 in a 3-1 win against haaland and odergard is a pretty good indication. He’s in the form of his life and it would have been silly to let him walk for free. I wonder if he had been signed for free if we would be saying it was a daft deal or we would be thinking it’s a good move in our situation. There’s likely to be a few other free transfers like this that might not be the most exciting but well needed for the campaign.
  2. I do wonder how a back 4 of vk, coady souttar and ricardo would get on.
  3. well thats not true if hes actually playing. The extra year brings down the weekly wage to something much more fitting for psr. It actually may make it more feasible. This year is the tightest one, so if weve saved 20k or so on his wage for this season, it may have been worth it. if he is starting for us this season then id say it might be a smart move in our tightest moments.
  4. yeah of course that’s where the debate falls. But maybe the club don’t want to have to pay 15-20m for a replacement. Obviously it becomes a bad decision if the new boss just goes with souttar or coady instead. But based on what’s been said, enzo requested this and the agreement was made before he left.
  5. genuine question for some, would you prefer we massively overpaid for 1 year, overpaid for 2 or got him down to a sustainable wage and spread it out over 3? vestergarde knows this was his last decent deal in football, he would want 3 years from everyone. If the club have got him down to 40k at 3 years then that might well be better for our situation than 70k for 1 year. These figures are random but probably fairly accurate based on what we pay atm.
  6. possibly some legs in this then. Won’t have too many coaches to reach out to so Petty might well weasel a job there. Birmingham are utterly bizarre. Good job for someone with a rebuild in league 1, very surprised theyve gambled on Davies. He was here ages but I barely remember ever hearing him speak
  7. Huge yes from me
  8. He’s not a complete basket-case. I just feel that we have an opportunity right now to attract a stronger candidate. Id hazard a guess that if we were dead bottom at xmas, cut adrift, that copper would still take the gig. It’s just a little underwhelming. I’ll give whoever comes in my backing until they lose it on the pitch, but some of my pre-season optimism would certainly dissipate
  9. I would say that his glass ceiling would be higher. I also think his style fits what we’ve been working on more. Hes never had an opportunity in the top flight but I like what i’ve seen of him. So yes id be fully behind that. I just don’t think Cooper fits us, the logic doesn’t add up for me. Back to conceding from ever corner. Being happy to sit without the ball and keep your fingers crossed it doesn’t go in. (not going to work with our defence) In total honesty, I wouldn’t be fully convinced if we were still in the championship
  10. Cooper hasn’t really done anything more than someone like Chris Wilder. It clicked for him at one club, things fell right. There is nothing that makes him look a good fit for us. It’s a ridiculously lazy appointment, going for someone free and local. I genuinely thought we had turned a corner but after Enzos comments it perhaps the club don’t want a disrupter, so have gone for a man who put up with the mad greek!
  11. ive been blocked from saying what i want to say. But wait and see
  12. Linekers Apples that’s all i’m going to say on it
  13. Linekers Apples that’s all i’m going to say on it
  14. bit of a worry that we may lose some add ons because of this
  15. tbf he’s the one name that I think everyone would be excited about. Which is very rare especially coming without any real success behind him. But he just has a recipe that most people would get behind and also seems like he would want to come and see out the project, even if it’s not going too well, due to our limitations and points deductions. As much as people like Sarri or Allegri being linked, they would jump ship as soon as things stop going their way. It would need to be a quick start or it would be disastrous.
  16. the king of scoring against shite
  17. Oh FFS, this won’t go down well.
  18. i’ve said it before and still 1000% believe •it will not be cooper. It just doesn’t fit what we are looking for at all. Top wants a specific brand of football. Top wants to break in to europe. Call it delusional or whatever you want but he doesn’t really go for a stop gap manager. we’ve only done it once since he’s been here with smith and that situation was obviously unique. Whoever we go for will be someone he thinks will be a good long term appointment and for me this rules out cooper. lts very well known that Top wanted to move away from the previous brand of football we played. He’s not going to take us as far away from it as we’ve ever been, then move back towards it. So relax if you’re worried about that because it simply won’t happen. We might be penny pinching but we also didn’t want the 10m for maresca. The aim was still to be competitive. We wouldn’t flinch to pay half of it for a decent coach we wanted
  19. Super league would start with 8 or so prem clubs. It would likely be the downfall of every top league except the bundersliga.
  20. There’s so many unnecessary comments about Steve Bruce. Personally think he seems like a lovely bloke. Wouldnt want him as a manager, nor would he even be considered. But the comments focusing on peoples looks and simply nasty comments about humans, that we’ve seen with him and cooper in recent days makes me lose faith in humanity. Just say he’s a god awful manager and leave out any thing else. They’re someone’s grandad and it all feels unnecessary to me 🤷‍♂️ (i’m not meaning just on this forum)
  21. ideally a new manager get some time with him in pre-season before we let him go. Certainly more mobile than vestergarde
  22. Not denying that, but the right man arguably could pull you away from one to begin with. If you get someone who has the impact of glasner or o’neil at wolves, come xmas you’d be back in contention and you could pull away. Id like the club to go ambitious rather than a safe pair of hands.
  23. The great news about how long chelsea are taking to announce this, is that enzo has chosen to bring our social media guy with him
  24. That’s such an old school mentality. We aren’t 6 games away from the end of the season needing an instant impact. The right fit for a relegation fight is the manager that will get you playing the best football. Youre more likely to land on your a$$ with a relegation safe manager, than a progressive footballing man these days. Likelyhood is, whoever comes in won’t last the season, if we are heading down.
