I'd be very surprised if the team wasn't this with BDCR in the 10 for the Birmingham game. I think Page is more of a box-to-box and James should have that spot when he's available. Signing Aribo is probably going to mean that when James is back, Page will be back in the youth teams. Skipp/Winks to play as the pivot with James/Aribo/Page as the box to box 8. BDCR/Mukasa/Ramsey as the 10.

It's a well known fact that left footed players generally have at least +5 pure sauce points over their right footed equivalent.

Palace aren't obliged to spend £20m and pay him £80k a week unless they're sure. I have no sympathy for him in this regard. I think it's actually a bit disgraceful to expect it. People playing the "oh won't anyone think of the mental health" card takes away from people that are genuinely suffering.

Slight worries over his fitness but by all accounts he's a proper leader. Not like the podcaster. The sort of signing we used to make.

I think ultimately he just isn't good enough for this level but I have seen some encouraging posts regarding his attitude. Sounds like he's a good egg and God knows we could do with a few of those.

I think it's very likely that we would be paying all of his wage. When has this club ever shown that they're able to negotiate when it comes to wage structures?

What frustrates me about things like this is that these sort of players are doomed from the start. Everything about this signing obviously stinks and the fans can smell it from a mile away. So this lad is clearly coming into a situation where he will have literally zero room for judgment. The fans will (rightly) condemn a signing like this from the outset whereas you'd think the club would at least try to get someone that will let the fans get excited about.

I was just going off that list that was doing the rounds of him being one of the highest earners in the league.

He's a lot better than the other defenders we currently employ. Plus Andy King's comments regarding Vestergaard sounded to me like he's not wanting to hang around.

Page, Skipp, James, Winks, Choudhury, Ricardo, Ramsey, Reid and Golding are all capable of playing. Yes the majority of this list are currently injured but they should be back in good time to play without needing to sign up for 6 months of £80k a week.

We are 100% agent led in terms of recruitment. As opposed to going out and targeting the players we want and need we wait until agents come to us with suggestions. I don't think it's a case of being cheap, I think it's simply laziness and a lack of ambition. There's deals to be had earlier in the window for players that would fit the bill.

Carrick would have been a great replacement for Cifuentes but I don't think you have to be the next Ferguson to realise that if you play players in their preferred positions you'll do well. When was the last time we signed a player before the last couple of days of a transfer window? I'm thinking Oliver Skipp but even that was quite late IIRC. We're just the pits when it comes to being organised and knowing what we want.
