I think the reality is, when we get relegated, we’ll be screwed. The EFL will hammer us, then we could be stuck in the football league for years to come. Vardy goes and we’ll struggle for goals. We need to get younger players coming through the system.

Back to basics. If you’re a fullback, you’ve got to be aware of what’s around you, if the ball is going past you, put it away.

I agree on the fullbacks. I’m not convinced by either Vestergaard or Coady either in a solid defensive system. I wonder if we’d be better going to a three centre back model, two holding CDMs. Tuck the two wing backs in tight and then counter with a pacy forward with long counter attacking. You’d protect the goal more, it would be ugly and on par with Stoke and Wimbledon.

That’s bonkers though when you think about it. We should always look at potential with the ability to sell on for profit.

oh, I get your point. The challenge is, this team can’t play long either. It gets smashed long and it’s coming straight back. We aren’t physical enough. We are a squad that is largely made up of people that can retain the ball at Championship level. We don’t get recruitment right in the summer and we are now struggling. I think a more experienced coach would maybe played a more compact system etc, however I’m not sure we have the players to do it. We have a mess of a squad and we’ll down this end of the table without significant upgrades. The great fear, they sell Hermansen to finance it in January. So we end up with Ward until the end of the season! I didn’t like Cooper because he didn’t really have a plan. However I’m yet to be convinced RVN will save us. I’m not sure many people who have longer career aspirations, would have taken us on, knowing what a mess the squad is and the injuries we have.

Reality is, the entire back 5 needs upgrading. That defence would creak at times in the Championship.

It’s more etiquette. I’ve seen games where players have shouted other players names and seen players leave it. It happens, it’s just not highlighted.

Maybe it isn’t on the recruitment team, but the people holding the purse strings to spend money? We’ve only got to look at Lookman, which was a no brainer at £12m, when you consider what we spent on others.

It’s an unwritten rule throughout football. I don’t think it’s in the actual FA rules. If Ward has called for it from his position then he’s crazy. Justin would deal with it. Like Vestergaard should have really been stronger and dealt with the first.

Agreed, however I don’t think Iversen is that great either. We all remember his horror at Fulham. Iversen isn’t that much better than Ward. Iversen looked great at Preston but he was average at Stoke, with a defence in front of him that could protect him. What’s your opinion on Ward from a Wales perspective?

Also a counter argument that retaining the ball, with a sweeper keeper stops the opposition scoring. I think we can all acknowledge that Ederson isn’t the best goalkeeper in the world, however in the right system it helps. At the moment, we’ve got a bits and pieces squad. Maybe it’s as simple as without Winks / Vestergaard, Iversen is the better goalkeeper as well need to play differently. With them, we’d be better with Ward. Ideally, neither play and Hermansen and Stolarkzyk are back ASAP!

So was Ward. Go and read Stoke fans opinions of Iversen. They were asking for him to be swapped out at one point. Neither are good enough.

So if that post is clueless, why has no Manager played Iversen, and no one attempted to pay the £5m we wanted for him? He literally can’t kick a football.

Iversen definitely is not better at his feet. He is up there with everyone that has rarely kicked a football. Some of the stuff we witnessed him do was mind boggling. Even Stoke were shocked by how bad he was in the Championship. It’s alright keeping the ball out of the net, however If you keep giving the ball back to the opposition, they’ll get more chances.
