  1. Tomorrow isn’t it?
  2. Where does this bloke fit in, if we have Fatawu?
  3. I always see America like a host of countries, acting under similar law. It isn’t that different from the EU in many ways. They’d have to do it state by state and impose border control if they wanted to try and do it. Whilst some states would be easier than others, it’s not going to happen I reality. I was blown away by how many guns you see in places like Texas.
  4. It’s not worth getting into a debate over, however if someone intends to cause harm, they’ll use whatever they can get their hands on. For me, guns increase the range and are so readily available it’s too easy to do. We have a massive knife issue in the UK as they’re widely available. The range to attack someone is so close however, that fatality numbers will be lower. I feel the United States would be a better country if all guns were returned, however that’s about as easy as asking everyone to hand over their cars. Realistically it isn’t going to happen.
  5. Ah, good point. I’d forgotten JFK.
  6. Yes, I agree. The fallout from it would have been crazy.
  7. Who was the last president assassinated in America? Lincoln? I am somewhat surprised no one has tried before, given the American culture toward guns and the diverse character he is. I’m guessing they will have, however the security picks them up. I wonder if all future political rallies will now be held in a more controlled condition like town halls etc.
  8. I’d just finished reading that. That bullet was millimetres away from changing history. The butterfly effect from this is going to be huge!
  9. Assuming it went behind his head the caught his right ear?
  10. Crazy that he wasn’t spotted before given the placement of the counter sniper. In fact, surprised that any roof top wasn’t covered by some form of protection.
  11. FROM THE BBC Here's a quick re-cap on what we know about the shooting earlier today at the Trump rally in Pennsylvania. An attacker fired multiple rounds from an "elevated position" toward the stage before he was killed by Secret Service agents One person in the audience is killed and two others are in critical condition Trump says he was hit by a bullet in his right ear. He thanked law enforcement in his first remarks after the attack and expressed both shock and condolences for the attendees killed or wounded He has since left the local hospital and will attend the Republican National Convention next week as planned Witnesses described chaotic scenes after the gunfire, with multiple people telling the BBC they believe the attacker was perched on a one-storey building near the venue The shooting is being investigated as an assassination attempt, according to law enforcement sources speaking to BBC's US partner CBS News President Joe Biden appeared on camera to condemn the attack and later spoke to his November election rival
  12. Yes, I can see why. I don’t think Southgate will change from what he’s been doing. In a bizarre way, I think this game suits Toney more as a target man then Foden / Bellingham can play off him as tens. I could so Southgate going ultra defensive and go back to a double pivot. Rice and Gallagher to frustrate the space and stop Simons and Olmo dropping inside, leaving Walker and Tripper to deal with the fullbacks. If he does that though, we’re in for a really boring game, watching football in the English half and Kane playing all over the place chasing the ball.
  13. Netherlands changed the shape to try and stop is from playing. It’s what pretty much every team has done so far we’ve played. No one has really had a go at us like Spain will. Spain won’t alter their tactics to try and compact the midfield and reduce the space, they’ll use Rodri to do it. Likewise on the other side of the coin, we’ll do the same with Rice. This could be a really open game. I’d rather we played 3 at the back allowing us to push their fullbacks back into the defensive half. If we press high and don’t allow them to play out from the back, we’ll need to ensure we pick up those 2nd balls, as that’s where Yamal or Williams will hurt us. I don’t think Cucurella will give us as many issues as he gave Germany. As Walker is a better defender than Rudiger out wide. What concerns me is out left hand side against Olmo and Carvajal. I can see Tripper / Shaw being ripped to pieces.
  14. Both teams have special players. Spain will give us more space to play. This will be a really, really good watch in my opinion and could be the game of the tournament.
  15. England haven’t lost a competitive game since we had a King
  16. What a hit! That’s why you play Watkins
  17. That’s closer than I thought actually
  18. Dutch are on average the tallest people in the world at 5’11
  19. I think I was in the minority that didn’t rate the bloke when he was with us.
  20. The way that Kane roams around the pitch looking for the ball reminds me of Iian Hume. He drove me bonkers doing that as well.
  21. I agree. Southgate just drops what he perceives the best eleven players to be and sticks them on the pitch.
  22. They’ve compacted the midfield and dropped back.
