  1. Whilst politically our views differ slightly @Daggers, I do actually enjoy interacting and reading your posts. The directness at times always makes me smile. Also the reactions from other people who don’t appreciate that
  2. You know what, it will always change. People and animals will always migrate. I have it on good authority that the Dodos tried to stop the swallows coming south and migrating. We know what happened to the Dodos. Jokes aside, people will move to where resources are more readily available. The interesting dynamic will be that sea levels will potentially rise. It would only take a major eruption at somewhere like Yellowstone for us to plummet into an ice age. Nature is so fragile and realistically we need to try and control certain situations, whilst having a longer term plan for those that occur naturally (Covid, Disease, Volcanoes, Earthquakes etc)
  3. Oh, I can relate to this. Whilst the UK was sat basking in its hottest day ever a few years ago, I was sat on a beach in Mauritius, with it peeing it down with rain
  4. I don’t agree with the approach just stop oil takes to be honest. In fact, at times their action really annoy me. However, whilst they themselves have an awful name, they have achieved more than most in terms of getting the conversation going. I think we can all agree that we are currently heading in one direction and that more needs to be done. I agree that other people, countries etc can do more and need to be held accountable. Ultimately, I see that us small folk do, adds a little bit more time saving against that ticking time bomb. The more of us that do it, the more time we put back in the bank.
  5. It’s a collective responsibility to a degree. Unfortunately this is also half the reason it will continue to get worse before it gets better, as we can’t get everyone on the same page. Countries like China have actually made large steps forward, although they still have a long way to go. Some bizarre countries when you look at the amount of carbon generated by head. Canada and Finland need to do more.
  6. Nature will always repair itself, as that what it does. What we don’t know, is how much of civilisation as we’ll know it will be left to write the story.
  7. Depends how far they want to go with it. On paper, we’ve got 200 years up to Roberts Rebellion that had ended as Game Of Thrones started. I’m still waiting for the Westeros Cup Final, where the Lannisters take on the Starks for the FA Cup
  8. Ultimate true wealth is health. Big Corporations continue to spin PR and green wash, then will still take minimal action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and their carbon footprint, as they ultimately have to satisfy shareholders, who strive on year for year improvement in profit margins. Going greener comes at a cost, one that companies and people aren’t willing to accept as it ultimately the majority think short term. I’ve sat in so many construction meetings and we’ve discussed greener or reduced carbon options for projects. Ultimately they add millions to projects, as everyone is trying to profiteer on it. If people were truly serious about it, then it wouldn’t even be a question, or be more expensive in the first place.
  9. Yea, having read the book, it’s been a bit painful in parts. Certain parts have felt really dragged out (I’m looking at Daemon in Harrenhall). My wife who hasn’t read anything other to a the internet for 15 years, is struggling to maintain what’s happening.
  10. Oh, it’s good! Best episode of the season for me.
  11. It’s going to be taken from one hand and given to the other. It was always going to be the case. New government, new ideas. I can’t say I agree with the massive hike to Junior Doctors to be honest. By year 5 they’re on a steady wedge on average. Unfortunately it’s like everything, you’ve got to earn your craft. They’ll out earn the average wage.
  12. I’ve been in Maspalomas for 8 days with the family and I’m now bored and want to come home. I’ve even taken to talking with the other guests about football and the German 2nd division, Glasgow Rangers and Ayoze Perez.
  13. Anyone watching house of the dragon?
  14. This isn’t an issue isolated to Leicester. Look across other fan forums and they’re all bemoaning this.
  15. I’m not blown away by the Aries signing if I’m honest. Adding Ayew into the mix as well …. I’m hoping this is Nixon fishing, or maybe he was considered an alternative at some point.
  16. Great news if we can offload another one of our flops. https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-united-and-west-brom-battling-to-sign-former-sheffield-wednesday-and-leeds-united-target-4720125 Sheffield United, West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City are reportedly vying to sign forward Tom Cannon from Leicester City. The 21-year-old was a wanted man last summer, with Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesdayamong the clubs who were linked with a swoop. He did leave Everton but not for Yorkshire, instead joining Leicester City on a permanent basis. Having shone during a loan spell at Preston North End, much was expected from Cannon in his maiden Foxes campaign. However, injury and stiff competition for places limited him to 13 league outings. He is once again being linked with a summer switch, with reporter Alan Nixon crediting Sheffield United with interest on his Patreon page. Blades boss Chris Wilder is said to be keen on landing the frontman, who represents the Republic of Ireland on the international stage. Cannon would arguably be an ideal replacement for Oli McBurnie, who has joined Spanish side Las Palmas following the expiry of his Blades deal. Stoke City and West Brom are also said to be battling to strike a loan deal for Cannon, who is believed to be keen on regular game time during the 2024/25 campaign. Sheffield United have already made five senior signings this summer, conducting some shrewd business against the backdrop of a takeover process. As well as Cannon, the Blades have been linked with former Newcastle United defender Paul Dummett and ex-Southampton winger Stuart Armstrong. Deals are said to have been teed up for both, with Wilder reported to be waiting on funds to finalise the moves.
  17. Just look at the ones we’ve had …. Morgan, Wasilewski they didn’t rely on pace. Outside of that look at Pepe, Silva, Chiellini, Puyol, Costacurta, Desailly, Blanc, Koeman, Sammer, Nesta, Canavarro, Baresi, Maldini etc all played past 35 but want reliant upon pace. Obviously Vesty isn’t at their level in quality, however he’s not going to get worse as long as he trains to maintain his fitness.
  18. I rather just flog Cannon, Daka and not sign Ayew to be honest Unfortunately, we are padding the squad out.
  19. We are sort of becoming a club like Palace, whereby we sign random people and will float around 17th - 8th in the Premier League. Ayew is a steady player, however he isn’t going to pull up any trees. We are clearly looking for forward options to cover across all three roles. It’s like the Reid signing, it’s not earth shattering but steady 6/10 players will do enough to grind out results and get us mid table stability. This tells me that the club
  20. Vestergaard isn’t going to lose pace over the next three years. He’ll practically be the same player in three years, as he is today. His game is more mental than physical, so that’s why defenders like him to can play into their late 30s. He’s the least of our issues to be honest.
  21. Yuki and Shinji say “Hi”!
  22. Monaco sniffing around again ….. Rudkin, please don’t reject the bid again.
  23. He’ll see them every day in training. These games should be about getting patterns of play together and working on being a cohesive unit. Last season despite getting beasts by Liverpool 4-0, we clearly had an ideology on how Maresca wanted to setup and who he would trust.
  24. Gone by Christmas do you think?

    Marvel/DC

I found the hype for Deadpool and Wolverine to be better than the film. It has its moments but it’s flawed in parts as well. I can take it or leave it.
