  1. Not watching the game, but just looked on the BBC website and Man City were on 88% possession after 13 mins. What did did we do? Kick off?
  2. Yes, I’ve been a Leicester fan for too long.
  3. I think what everybody has been saying is all true. It's that balance between changing the balance of the team versus a solid and dependable performer. I think Simpson has been one of our best players over the last two seasons. I watch him sometimes and I think he anticipates and reads the play better than anyone across the back four. That's why it's him who so often turns up with the vital clearance. It would be a gamble to replace him. However, I do believe in two good players for every position and, unless there is somebody about to appear from the reserves, I don't believe that we have adequate cover for Danny. We could do with someone else who offers a different, more attacking, option. This would allow us to experiment with different formations and be more flexible. Given Puel's indication for more rotation it might mean that we could alternate and not be so reliant on a single option. Also, what happens if DS gets injured? It wouldn't hurt to look for another RB.
  4. Better than Lennon or Izzett? Better than Esteban Cambiasso? Better than N'Golo Kante? Better than Junior Lewis?(!) That's some praise.
  5. Is the first one Andy King - because most of the time he's invisible?
  6. I do like the Birch, but I usually only do that for Rachel Riley.

    Musa

I agree with that. I think there are better options in a 4-4-2, but I think the left in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 looks ideal for Musa. We argue about whether his best position is wide left or centre forward, but we may not have seen him in his quite best position yet. Personally I'd worry about him leading the line as a CF from what I've seen so far.

    Musa

For me a lot of it depends on the form of Mahrez. Albrighton on the left wasn't a talking point last season as Mahrez was providing all those goals and assists from the right. Now we look like we need a plan B. I'd still stick with Albrighton if we are playing 4 across the middle. Those saying he doesn't contribute much must be watching a different game to me. It's worth sticking with him on the right especially whilst Mahrez is away. A 4-3-3 provides different problems for me. The recent games against Middlesbrough and Everton appear to have given us more solidity away from home, but have lacked pace and creativity. I think a Musa or Gray may well give better options in that formation as would (an in form) Mahrez - and with Vardy back in the team we certainly wouldn't lack pace.

    Musa

I think there is a tendency for people to overuse the word “literally” in modern parlance. Does he “literally” bum Musa? Really? No accounting for taste I suppose.
  10. The thing is that the Leicester success story is not a “fairy tale”. That is a term that has been invented by the media to make our success seem more fanciful as it came against overwhelming odds and perceived wisdom. The media build this up - and it is the same media that also want to knock us down, or present an alternative view, as it all sells papers. The truth is that it has actually been achieved because we have been the most consistent team this season. We’ve won more games than anyone else, lost fewer and have married effort and ability in a way that no other club has managed to do. Over 38 games I would never claim any team is not deserving of their success – and I would have said that even if Spurs had beaten us on the last game on goal difference. I don’t think that any Leicester City fan is claiming that we haven’t been lucky with our owners. They are billionaires and have steered us in a manner that other wealthy owners, at other clubs, have failed to do. We have had some advantages in that respect and there is no denying that, but we are still dwarfed by the biggest clubs in the top league. To continue to harp on about our administration is getting a bit desperate now. People often talk about Leicester as the reason points deductions were brought in and that it is not fair that we escaped any penalties. The truth is that Leicester City were not the reason the rules were changed. Many teams went into administration before us and we were simply the last team to exploit a safety net that most other teams would have exploited in the same situation. When administration happens in business then good people lose money. It’s unfortunate, it’s sad, it’s not unique to Leicester City and has nothing to do with the current owners (nor the previous owners for that matter). It’s not a fairy tale. We are a well-run club who can pay good wages to good players and have many advantages that other clubs don’t. We are, however, nothing like Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and others in terms of size, wealth or pulling power. It’s no fairy tale, but still an incredible, remarkable and marvellous achievement that reflects brilliantly on all those involved.
  11. Anybody in the world can make a comment like: "Leicester won't win the league". When you consider the amount of money we've invested in our squad compared to our rivals it's hardly a bold statement. We probably won't and it's a minor miracle that we're still this close to the top. But it would be nice if Lawrenson actually said something insightful about us. Just something ..... anything ...... otherwise I'd just sooner him shut up, because it's fairly obvious to anybody that he hasn't even been bothered to watch us play. You could ask your local hairdresser, who isn't interested in football and knows nothing about it, who is going to win the league. She/He would probably say Manchester United or Arsenal, but definitely not Leicester. Why not? ".....huh uh ..... because they won't ....". He displays about the same level of intellectual football insight as an 8 year old.
  12. This is very true actually, but what I find even more frustrating is you often get a similar thing within the same set of fans. If you criticise a player or the club you're an idiot, but if you call them great you're praised. It would be good if we could all accept criticism as long as it is well considered and argued.
