  1. I still don't think it's very likely that there is a release clause. If there is, it'll almost certainly be very, very high. Can't see the club agreeing to one that wasn't. Players have come and gone since Mahrez left, and I'm pretty sure we haven't had any release clauses triggered since Kante left. I just see no reason to believe that we're agreeing to them again. There can still be a bidding war over a player with a release clause. Depends whether the bids start below the amount in the clause.
  2. I think I know what you're trying to say, but it's just not true that contracts mean nothing, is it? We're not going to get what we should have done for Youri or Cags, because they've only got a year left on their contracts and interested clubs can hold that against us. It's the opposite when a player has just signed a new deal - the selling club holds all the cards. It's very rare for a player to move clubs just a few months after signing a new contract. I suppose it is possible that there's a min. release clause in Wes's contract, but I think it's highly unlikely. I believe the club have said they won't be writing contracts with them in anymore after we were stung with Kante's sale. Even if there is one, I think it would probably be for such an amount that would mean it might as well not be in there, anyway. Barring a stupidly-low, unlikely-in-any-case release clause in his contract, if anyone comes in for Wes any time soon, we're in a position to name our price, or just say 'not for sale.' I agree with the rest of your comment. I think Wes seems to really enjoy being here, and I'm sure he will stay for at least one more season. He is destined for the very top, I reckon. Wouldn't surprise me if he fetched around £100m in a year or two.
  3. James Pearson?
  4. I doubt anyone will be in for Wes this summer, after he just signed a new contract. I don't think anyone would pay anywhere near what it would take to get him.
  5. I agree with most of this - he's been in poor form for a long time, but we've seen how good he can be. It will be very tough to find a replacement on par with an on-form Cags. I disagree that it's crazy to sell, though. I think it's clear he wants to leave. He's about to be in the last year of his contract, and the alternative to selling this summer is losing him for nothing next year. We can't afford to let valuable players leave for free. Try finding a decent replacement without that £25m to £30m to spend!
  6. I think it just means buying and selling players as normal. Just a strange, likely American, phrase.
  7. 9-0?
  8. Where's the evidence for this? Soyuncu started 40 games this season. Vestergaard had 12, and he often doesn't even get named on the bench. Cags will be leaving because he wants to. Jannik will be going because he's not good enough.
  9. I don't think people would know you're a knowledgable fan if you picked Vardy. He's our most famous player. If anyone's only heard of one of our players, it'll be him. I think people would probably think you're a more knowledgable fan if you went with a more obscure player. I do agree that Vards is the sensible choice, though. He is the GOAT, after all. @sususuuuu9, I think I'd go for Barnes out of those two, for much the same reasons others have already said. Home-grown, done more for us so far, more likely to keep shirt number, etc.
  10. Maybe. I hope so. Seemed a weird joke to make.
  11. Congrats on a spectacularly stupid comment. Never mind that arguably our current best player is French, why would you dismiss a potential signing based purely on nationality? Don't sign Vardy, Matt Mills was shite.
  12. Another for Ayoze! What is it with him and Southampton? Can't he pretend every team is them?
  13. It's cos Soton had a concussion - means both teams get an extra sub.
  14. No, it doesn't. Still not showing PL, anyway.
  15. No CMs on the bench. Strong line-up, though.
  16. I'm pretty sure Youri's loan didn't have an option to buy.
  17. Thanks. My stream is terrible. I see a few seconds, then it freezes
  18. Wow! Wasn't expecting that! Kasper with the assist, as well.
  19. Fofana is unfortunate to be playing at a time when there is so much competition for a place in the French national team's defence, but he'll get there before too long. No doubt. Wes is the real deal, he's just signed a new contract and is only 21 years old. £40m is nowhere close to make us even consider a sale. Miles and miles off.
  20. Yeah. No Nottingham-born, Forest-loving player has ever joined us before, have they?
  21. This is crazy talk. We'd get a wee bit more than £40m selling Wes today, I can assure you. Wow.
  22. Really? Doesn't it seem more stupid to turn down a sale in the hope that you might make the same sale just before the ticket becomes worthless?
  23. We'd look like Villa. Bin.
