The ‘Alex Smithies’ player of the season award.
Freeman's Wharfer replied to Pliskin's topic in Leicester City Forum
+1 for Edouard. Would send exactly the right message. -
That’s the thing though, nothing had changed had it? I was there at Deepdale that night, and it was great, but last season just temporarily papered over cracks. The off-field running of the club is as bad as it was 3 years ago and, unfortunately, that will always win out over the long term so that any positive change is only temporary.

B-b-b-but little Top watched the 1997 League Cup final between Leicester and Middlesbrough and that’s why they bought the club. Didn’t you know?!

Vardy’s about the only enjoyable thing about watching LCFC at the moment. Keep.

Selling the chance to “take in some Premier League football” tells you everything you need to know about who they want in that ‘stadium bowl’.

I’m done with him just for how he acts at full time just as much aa anything else. Strides on, shakes the refs hand, hugs a couple of opposition players, turns on his heels and he’s off down the tunnel. There’s not been one iota of effort by him to connect with the fans. Despite huge patience with turgid rubbish being served up, he won’t even acknowledge the fans that are sitting through it all. He keeps dropping lines about his contract and positioning that he’s not going to walk. But nothing about him suggests he has any inclination to be here long-term. Yet again, we have a manager gagging for the pay-off. Not willing to talk away and forego the dollar and willing to drag the club down in the process. Get him gone.

What do you mean a Happy Independence Day Bangladesh post followed by a Happy Birthday Richie Wellens one is the sign of a confused and messy social media strategy?! The vast majority of posts on there aren’t for the local (or ‘legacy’ as they would call it) fan base. If an update on the Belgian Red Devils and Wout Faes wins a couple more Belgian fans then job done as far as the club is concerned. It would be so easy to find a fan with the relevant professional experience to run a club Twitter account and do it with authenticity in a way that resonates massively with local fans. They don’t care about those fans though - they care about doing it however some agency has told them will help their ‘international brand’.

You mean the Leicester that had already been in four FA Cup finals, won the League Cup three times, played in Europe three times, finished second in the First Division once and had a very good shot at winning it with the ‘Ice Kings’ in 62/63? Perhaps the ‘little old Leicester’ mindset is the bigger problem than the likelihood for our club to be successful consistently. -

Will be great for Premier League money to trickle down to us the way we’re headed -
Fed up of this clown throwing his arms up when a goal is conceded, like he’s above all this, when actually he’s been culpable for it at some point along the move that created the goal.

One of my favourite King Power myths, this. We had literally just lost in the play-off semi-final when they bought the club. We were a penalty shoot out and 90 minutes at Wembley away from the Premier League! KPFC seem to talk like we were bought by King Power when Mandaric bought the club and it was on its knees. It wasn’t. It was on an upwards trajectory. -

Wow. Talk about trying to find extra meaning when it is not there and doing absolute gymnastics to be offended. You could use the helicopter tragedy to give the family a free pass for eternity at that stadium. Your numerous posts in this thread campaigning against the message show your hand. It’s now pretty desperate to play this card. -
You seem to be mistaking me for someone who wasn’t a leading part in the Foxes Trust Reform campaign. It can’t be reformed if all people do is throw stones from distance and fail to acknowledge even any slight bit of progress though, can it? If that’s word salad then so be it. If you’ve got some examples of how you’ve asked the club to reduce prices then send it my way. Equally if you’d like to apply your energy to trying to change the Trust like me and @CosbehFox then we’d welcome your energy doing something with us.

Lots of fans in this thread wanting the club to announce a price reduction for a relegation that, although we as fans know is coming, the club cannot themselves take as given publicly. Have you been in touch with the club to ask for this price reduction? Do you believe it to be realistic prospect or is it just easy to kick the Trust when it’s trying to secure something rather than nothing? If we stay up (unlikely I know - but certainly wasn’t quite so unlikely when the Trust opened this dialogue with the club), the Trust has secured a freeze where other clubs are whacking prices up. If we go down, the club was never going to reduce prices, and that’s why they’re announcing things now rather than waiting. The Trust is putting pressure on the club to reduce match day prices with a relegation - which is where the real disgraceful pricing is seen most - but it’s easier to ignore that and shout and moan without doing anything to actually impact of course…

Safe standing - time to act
Freeman's Wharfer replied to Safe Standing Roadshow's topic in Leicester City Forum
I mean when you look at those stadium maps there’s no other club in the country that would implement it in such a messy and disjointed way. The implementation of it in L and P blocks is no doubt only so that expanded away ends in the cup have safe standing in the whole end as opposed to just the part given over for a standard league game allocation. The rear two rows in ‘the Kop’ is laughable really. Engage with fans properly, be willing to upset a few here and there for the greater good and the upper part of the entire south stand could have been given over to this. -

Not sure how you’ve taken a Fans Consultative Committee meeting organised by the club, and attended by one member of the Foxes Trust board so that it could be reported back to the fans, as the Trust advocating for ticket collections? Pretty wild leap to make, that. And I can categorically tell you it’s an incorrect one at that. -
Rodger’s vs the board (chicken vs egg)
Freeman's Wharfer replied to Lambert09's topic in Leicester City Forum
He started the fire and then purposely started to fan the flames to get it going quicker. Top and co then didn’t put it out. Maresca poured a bit of water on it until it was smouldering (and warning it could reignite any moment). Top and co then failed to keep pouring water on it and it’s really taken hold now to the extent it’s a bigger fire than before. But Brendan Rodgers started the fire. Don’t ever forget that. -

Yes, fair. But I’m not sure finding fault in the first channel someone from the board goes on is worthwhile! -

What’s to say someone from the Trust couldn’t go on all of them? I guess an invitation might help with that. -

Appreciate you were asked your perspective on the letter. Hopefully you can see though that your opinion holds a bit more weight across the fan base due to your background. That’s why I’m asking you to try and at least see and acknowledge some of the steps in the right direction! And also why I think the Trust would be stronger with this kind of energy on the inside. What you describe in terms of the challenges you’ve had are good examples of a Communications approach that needed (and still needs) work. Two (baby) steps in the right direction on that in the past week IMO.
