Had my technical interview this morning over the phone. Think it went well, should near back in the next two weeks. The guy who interviewed me works for IBM down in Southampton, but apparently is from Birstall - literally 5 mins walk from where I grew up. Small world.

Where can I find a table of how many days each team has spent atop the PL? Seems like we've been there forever now, and I can't see us dropping off. Despite all the cynicism from other 'big club' fans there's genuinely a possibility that - given our fixture list - we could win the league AND have led the league for more days than any other side.

I passed Final technical interview to come, but feeling confident In the meantime, I get to 'celebrate' with a few drinks and hopefully a Leicester win - all round a pretty good day.

It's a subsidiary company - IBM client innovation centre - and it only opened last summer, and it looks like a very different work environment to anything I've come across or heard of before. Looking forward to it. First job out of uni though, and there's a big focus on additional training, so worst case scenario I'll stick it out for the grad scheme contract and move upwards elsewhere. Can't see that being the case though. What you described sounds a lot like my placement at Virgin Media, actually. Not a focus on share price but still office politics galore, numerous restructures and spent half the time as either the most senior member of my team (as an intern!) or managerless...

Just back from an assessment centre for IBM. Think it went really well - find out this evening if I've made it to the final stage (a technical interview over the phone on Thursday). Fingers crossed. Off out for a pub lunch now to relax a bit, then a couple of lectures and back in time for the footy.

Both wrong. Can't remember the players who have done it, but Ipswich won the third division south in 56/57, second division in 60/61 and then the old first division in 61/62. 6 seasons.

This season for our club must be one of the most profitable (relative to spend) ever, for any English club. Our expenditure across the board is fairly low (wages, transfer fees etc) compared to ANY other side and, whilst we haven't particularly made much money on player sales, the TV deal is a huge windfall. Not to mention all the extras from next year's CL and the massive effect this will have on the owner's business.

English teams have been crap in Europe for a while now - not just this season. But the league has been weaker in PREVIOUS seasons because we don't have those sides competing at the highest level. Now, we're doing the unthinkable and doing BETTER than those same sides, so maybe - and this is a big maybe - we might stand a chance at doing better in Europe ourselves, or forcing the other sides to get their arses in gear. If anything, this should be good for the English coefficient. If more sides are competing at the same (high) level then that's nothing but good for the league.

Totally unproductive meeting with my dissertation project supervisor this morning, already on the way back home to laze about all day. Lectures start again on Monday, so making the most of these few days off while I can. Next semester is going to be a nightmare with all my dissertation work

Last exam of 5 today, after having the 4th one 24 hours prior. I'd made a few notes beforehand, but almost all of my revision was in the last 24 hours, and of that time only about 4-5 hours max was actually spent properly revising, and yet somehow it still went really well. Very happy with that, considering it's a module from a different department. The exam yesterday was even better. Much more stressful beforehand, but left the 2 hour exam half an hour early (after finishing with almost an hour to spare, then checking), and VERY confident of getting a good mark. Now just need to wait until the 8th to get my results back. Off for a meal with my other half in a bit to celebrate the end of it, just as soon as he hurries up and decides where he wants to go
