Still doesn't undo the fact he's been utter cack almost every game under RVN. Should have been given more opportunities but hasn't helped his case when he has been given one.
-
What a c***. Could bring on Monga but of course not.
-
Just had a great chance but went top early then absolutely cocked it up
-
Absolutely pathetic that was because he covered the middle of the pitch (leaving the flank open) so Cunha should never have got through.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
dmayne7 replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Keeping him does that even moreso. At least if he sacked him there's an argument to say that's humble enough to admit his mistake (which we know he isn't anyway) -
Saw him play a few times for Gillingham and not sure. He was more the type of striker who'd drop into space than a proper focal point which is arguably what we need. Fantastic rerun this season though. Whatever we do, it should probably be a young player who's a wildcard and then somebody else who is a bit more proven (realise that's near impossible to get in the championship)
-
Carrizo has just turned 19 and is starting to get some traction from bigger clubs so would seem very unrealistic. Slap on our refusal to sign many young players from further afield and it becomes an extremely unlikely prospect.
-
Relax. It was a tongue in cheek comment. I'm well aware of the point you were making.

Who do you want to be our main striker next season?
dmayne7 replied to 420Hashish's topic in Leicester City Forum
Just further underlines what a mess everything is. We should have phased Vardy out for several years and we should have prioritised a striker in the summer. -
All Jamie Vardy's appearances were under King Power...
-
And his clubs constantly got fined every game he managed. Imagine the morons in our club that are happy spunking 10 of millions on squad players but equally would probably lose their minds if they had to pay a £10k fine every match.
-
It's a stupid phrase anyway. If you had a wish and wish for new owners, then your wish has been fulfilled? Or if you wish for new owners to put things right, then you will get new owners who put things right. Nobody is wishing for even worse owners are they Or maybe Aladdin just completely got the concept of a wish wrong...
-
As a (not so) wise man once said - 'what a total waste of a post' (That was you by the way)
-
Exactly. I think it's probably a modern football thing as to just how judgemental we all are of managers. Obviously there are some rotters that still get decent jobs but it's just so circumstantial in terms of the manager being the right fit at the right time.
-
This is the problem with everyone's perception of who a good manager is (mine included). They're all judged on their last job or rather their failures and then they're considered rubbish. Basically every manager has failed somewhere. And so many have had success but it's all relative. How many managers actually get the time they need or a chance at a club where they're set up for success? On Farke, he'd be so uninspiring but you can't argue that he's not a good manager with 3 promotions on his cv
-
It makes no sense anyway. You'd just stick him on Gardening leave if it was such an issue for the current period.
-
At this stage, it's as obvious as can be (since there's no transparency). Been saying for months that people need to be targeting Top not Rudkin (who is probably still crap)
-
Objectively actually been a successful manager unlike RVN. Going to sound like a ****, but whilst I can understand not being keen on Dyche, if you would actually rather keep RVN over Dyche, I'm afraid your opinion is utterly irrelevant.
-
I hope this is tongue in cheek, otherwise nothing could sum up better how out of touch some of our fans are.
-
Course we shouldn't and I haven't said anything to disagree with that? But it doesn't change the fact that Vardy, like every single other player who's played a fair amount this season, have to take a big portion of the blame for such awful performances
-
Yep. So does that mean he's only half decent? In which case that's not good enough for what we needed is it? He's been one of our better players for sure, but still nowhere near good enough this season, like all of them. The logic seems to be that because the alternative wasn't better, he can't be criticised? So that applies for 10 others as well then
-
Thanks, very nice of you to say so. So you think he's done a good job as captain this season do you? How has his leadership been good? RVN is useless but it's still on the players to go out and perform at the end of the day and he, like everyone else, hasn't done. He's going to be captain of the worst top flight team in this club's history after being vice captain of the most expensive team ever to be relegated. Numerous times it's come out that he has gone behind a manager's back. Hardly the signs of great leadership qualities are they? You'll notice that I said the service has given him little chance to score, or just choose to ignore that part? As for being overplayed, that doesn't excuse his performances does it? With all the sports science, he'd not have been made available for selection, of if he really was struggling, he should have put his hand up and asked for sit out a game. Weird idea that he's been playing against his will. We've got an extra 8 games next year so being a year older how is he magically fit enough to do that. He's not going to want to play second fiddle to a championship striker next year is he? As I said in my reply to others above, you, and many others are so emotional about him that there can be no discussion about him. I love him just as much as you and he's our greatest ever player and nothing will change that but doesn't change the fact he's been a key part of 2 utterly embarrassing relegations.
-
Somebody on here made a great post a while back in regards to Vardy, in that as long as he's here, he's always going to be the main man, regardless if he's still up that role. It's why it's better for us if he moves on. Don't think anyone will say that he has been managed well and I'm certainly not expecting him to score 20+ goals in this team, and in fact think his overall return is probably better than than you can expect based on the performances of the team. That's not my issue. My problem is that there have been many games where his effort level has been noticeably lower. West Ham away there was a shocking bit where he was just pointing at everyone else to close down whilst he made no effort to do anything when the ball came near him (ironically the one time he did actually run we created a chance). Faes levels of lack of accountability. So he absolutely has not lead by example this calendar year, and he's hardly your typical captain otherwise. 2 relegations where he's been one of the team captains now so he clearly is a massive part of the issue. It's a slightly pointless topic to discuss anyway as people cannot remove the emotion when talking about him (understandably).
-
Sorry but no matter his status, his performances under Ruud have been awful. Little service and bad performances around him of course give him little chance to do much, but there's been far too many games where he's just stood there pointing at other people to do stuff whilst jogging around. Hasn't been able to lead from the front and certainly hasn't shown any other leadership qualities to justify being captain. Absolute legend and these relegations don't tarnish that, but he has been one of the biggest problems this year and as impassioned as that message may be, it also sounds a bit like he's blaming others. A sad day when he goes but it's absolutely essential that he does. Both from a footballing perspective but also because it severs ties with what was the old regime
-
I honestly don't get these people. Do they think that a) we have any control over it as fans, b) that they weren't the right decisions, and c) that a team should just accept they are going to be relegated. So odd
