Quite, it’s not just him Bublik as well who is entertaining and has improved but surely shouldn’t be knocking around the top 10, Fritz is also taking up a completely redundant place in if at the moment as he looks nowhere near right after this injury lay off. Hopefully see a bit more from him during the grass swing. tbh everyone below Zvarev in the top 10 seedings, on form, including Novak, you look at and think how are you seeded x. Possible exception being AD but even he is in crap form.
-
I dunno how Felix has even managed to get himself into a position where he’s fourth seed, other than the fact he seems to turn up to nearly every tournament, there are some really questionable players in the top 10 seedings in general.

Believer of the fact you make your own luck in football, as we are seeing now.

Running fast and running fast with the ball at your feet are two different things, in the case of Bale and Rooney that's technical ability. Owen had a low center of gravity and was 18 when he made his debut, but still, light years ahead of where Monga is. Monga is raw as you've said. But I think it's clear to see he's not going to be quite as good as some people like to think he's going to be. Certainly doesn't deserve to even be mentioned in company like that. Apart from Walcott maybe if he's lucky.

You’d imagine Zverev or Djockovic now both of which would be in intriguing for different reasons, but far from a shoe in, Djockovic can lose to anyone these days and Zverev has always been capable of losing to anyone especially when an opportunity is put in front of him.

I know he’s no fan of the heat but this was like instant capitulation
-
Can't just be the heat surely, he literally instantly fell off a cliff. Went from barley being able to lose a game to barley being able to win one.

32 degrees is not exactly weather you should be wilting under as the worlds best tennis player, especially with less than two hours on court.

Could we get actually get relegated again this season?

The first few pages of this thread are a great read 😂 -
Again this is not a hard one it stops with the games they’ve been charged with as that’s where the evidence is.
-
That would save Oxford wouldn’t it.
-
It doesn’t matter what we believe what matters is what they are charged with, you can’t act on assumptions which leaves Wrexhams case dead in the water. If they were charged with more, especially specifically Wrexham, then that’s a different story. But they haven’t been.

In a box at Sheffield arena tonight 👀 Shame it’s already all been decided pretty much but hopefully be a good crack.
-
Or maybe because there wasn’t a direct law against it when he did it and the EFL bought it in after this incident. I dunno what’s more worrying the amount of absolute nonsense being spouted by people who don’t have the first clue what they are talking about or the amount of likes they are getting in agreement.
-
This funnily enough is the closest example and most clear precedent set for an offence like this.
-
And they’ve been docked four points for those. You could take them off this season if you wanted, and what would happen? They’d be playing Middlesbrough in the play offs, so no different outcome. better they come off next season. Just people trying to take a slightly complicated situation and use it their own end. The correct outcome is the one the EFL have come up with.

Ok, allow to break down the three separate types of offence as a lot of people seem to be saying everyone cheats Chelsea this Man City that blah blah. Players simulating, the laws of the game state this is punishable by a yellow card given by the match referee, not throwing a team out of a competition, completely lazy and moot point which no one with a brain is going to take seriously. Chelsea imo, should have got a points deduction, however it is a considered business rule breach, which Chelsea actually reported themselves under new ownership after Roman left and cooperated fully, and it’s very difficult to link the payments to agents being a deciding factor in the players in question going to Chelsea. The most clear factor in that players decision will nearly always be which club offered the biggest pay check not who’s paying their agent the biggest fee. At the time, not hard to imagine that being Chelsea. But, the bottom line is just because Chelsea situation wasn’t dealt with correctly doesn’t mean we should then going forwards let everyone off lightly does it. It’s about time penalties actually constituted a deterrent instead of being throw away fines that barely effect the offending club and hopefully this is the start of setting a precedent. The people complaining it’s too harsh are funnily enough the same ones saying other cases weren’t dealt with properly. Manchester City are still in court and people should really reframe from casting judgement on that case until it’s resolved. What Southampton have been found guilty of is altering the level playing and gaining an unfair advantage Middlesbrough did not have in one fixture, knowingly breaking a very clearly stated rule in the process, once you have done that, you are more than likely going to lose that fixture. Doesn’t matter if it’s the 2bd round of the EFL trophy or a play off final. It’s an absolute win for English football that more importantly than anything else will stop this happening again. The result of Middlesbrough going through isn’t anywhere as near as messy as people are making out, Wrexham and Millwall can kick off all they want the footballing protocol in this case is clear, Boro go through like any other case like this in the past.
-
On what grounds should they be replayed. Wrexham have no case at all, they finished nine points behind Southampton. You didn’t have teams screaming for the whole of the first round of the fa cup to be replayed when Barnsley were thrown out. The protocol for teams thrown out of a ko competitions is one of the things consistently applied in football around the world, the defeated team goes through. Seen it in everything before, the play offs, the fa cup, AFCON, and on this “big team” conspiracy even Real Madrid have been thrown out the Copa Del Rey.
-
Haven’t Hull said they are considering legal action if they lose? That’s what I’ve read and that is not the same thing as saying they should be promoted. I would imagine said legal action will be against Southampton. As boro have been training for hull, and hull, until about an hour ago, didn’t know who they were playing for sure. id be very suprised if they think they should be promoted now. It’s standard procedure in ko formats of a club is thrown out they are replaced with who they beat. There’s even an example from non league this season where both quarter finalists were thrown out, even then they were replaced by a losing team from round 3 instead of the other semi finalists automatically progressing.
-
Where?
-
The absolute best case scenario for Southampton was it’d go down to two points as the points deductions are for Oxford and Ipswich. They were never going to disappear. You cant impose any other sporting sanction for the boro game other than removing them, its a knockout competition.
-
Was never going to be over turned.
-
They won’t have spied on us will they, we probably have laser beams guard dogs and UAV built into that ridiculously over priced training ground. Hardly worth getting past that to watch Harry Winks practice passing backwards and Patson Daka breaking windows in the canteen whilst attempting shooting practice for two hours is it.
-
Have we? Remember ours getting kicked into touch for one.
-
Yes, not sure how the past actions of independent commissions points to any likely hood of this being over turned though.
