@Whys it always me?
-
Hi why’s it always me. I’m well thanks, howre you? Interested in your thoughts on Luke. Any chance?
-
Thought I’d watch him for extended period and mark closely tonight. This is what I came up with: Passes ball straight out of play - 10 Early yellow poor positioning - 15 Slipped and gave ball away - 16 Good header back post - 22 Done by Costello near touch line - 23 Good header penalty spot -24 Poor pass near half way line - 26 Passes straight out of play - 42 He is s**t.

I don’t understand how someone can be experienced having played nearly 50 games for us (having made his debut 3 years ago!!) but still people say he needs experience and needs a loan. His job is to be the best footballer he can be and this involves being physically robust when playing in the premier league. Someone put it perfectly when they said Kristiansen=lion, Thomas=Bambi. He’s had more than long enough to work hard and improve. I think there’s some on here who are biased as they know him personally. I’d implore them to put this aside when casting their judgement please.

Fair enough mate, as I say, everyone’s entitled to their opinion and I respect yours
-
What I was alluding to was the fact that when players actively go and get personal shoppers, Instagram photographers etc this doesn’t necessarily affect their ability on the pitch, however when their personality traits affect how they perform for LCFC then this a slightly different issue?
-
Because in this instance it translates into his football as well, that’s all mate. He’s a good friend of my friend.
-
Just to clarify then, you think Luke Thomas is: good at tackling, good in the air, strong, quick and good on the ball?
-
I couldn’t give two hoots what he or any other footballer does outside of football (aside from if they’re Mason Greenwood-esque of course) but when he is lazy on a football pitch representing Leicester City (see multiple examples including tracking Almiron inside on Boxing Day, recent stats re how few tackles he’s made compared to Kristiansen) then I do care. I know I’ve mentioned this before but I’m not sure what he’s actually good at. He’s not a good tackler, not good in the air, not strong, not quick, not particularly good on the ball. I see many of the aforementioned attributes in our other full backs (Castagne not having a good time currently granted) but I don’t think Luke has what it takes to be a premier league footballer for us: he’s sadly not good enough.
-
Know for a fact he’s a lazy lad outside of football and I think this has also been shown to be the case during matches on numerous occasions. I really I am not sure why people keep mentioning the fact he’s a local lad as a reason for keeping him? we could pick up players from Coalville, Shepshed etc, but I thought we were playing premier league football and it’s quite obvious Luke Thomas isn’t good enough in any way for this.
-
He gets by because he’s a “Leicester Lad” and kicks the ball with his left foot. Isn’t good enough for where we want to be and there are ZERO strengths to his game. Sell.
-
His Dad is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon which I’m sure will be helpful in guiding the lad in his recovery
-
Apologies if already mentioned but anyone aware when Ricky P may be back?
-
Let me ask you this then mate: do you think Luke Thomas is a premier league footballer? Many players can have an ok game or two but it doesn’t make them good enough at this level. He’s played nearly 50 games now and has had way more bad games than good. Sorry but I’m not sure I understand the “get that confidence back and show what he’s made of” comment. His issue is not confidence, it’s lack of quality, and “what he’s made of” is a combination of laziness and lack of resilience. We are entering an incredibly important part of the season - a relegation scrap. We need people who have either heart and desire to fight (ie KDH) or that bit of footballing nous (ie madders, youri). Unfortunately Luke possesses neither of the aforementioned qualities….
-
The difficulty with Luke is I can’t think of one thing he’s particularly good at: he doesn’t assist, he’s not great on the ball, he’s weak, doesn’t look bothered, not great in the air, not overly good at defending. Who knows a loan may do him good but he’s no better than when he made his debut nearly 3 years ago. IMO he’s one of a fair few that are not good enough at this level sadly.

England Vs France - Saturday 10th Dec - 19:00

Don’t get me wrong I’m an extremely proud Englishman, but for me they would not be “heroes”. For me a hero is represented by someone that adds value to everyone in society, whether this be a soldier, a philanthropist (ie Vichai), a doctor, a nurse etc etc. I see it as part of the wider problem in the world for me: the almost deification of footballers, “influencers” etc etc. The amount of praise that SOME odious individuals will receive if we win the World Cup will be insufferable. Again, just my opinion. -

Normally I’m very positive as a person but I just can’t get up for this - the thought of Pickford, Walker, Grealish et al arriving back home as “heroes” doesn’t sit right. Am I the only one? PS don’t shoot me!
