Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
pkonline replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
A lot of this is nonsense scaremongering. It'll be 8 points or less. -
The Premier League is a massive pull and even lower half table clubs can attract big names in comparison to some of the biggest European ones.
-
There is a difference with McKenna and Maresca - McKenna has been on a longer and more significant journey with Ipswich. Maresca's success is much smaller than McKenna's. McKenna has bigger stock and was already being touted for bigger things when he was a youth coach at Man U. McKenna probably knows more about English clubs and their workings, and probably feels he's in no rush to pick the next big club for him.
-
He's obviously chasing the money and "prestige" of managing a bigger club. The Chelsea setup has been ridiculed by anyone on the know since their takeover.
-
Maresca was a bit of a surprise appointment last summer, so expecting similar and not one of the obvious/favourites.
-
Chelsea are very close to the PSR limits and need to sell, and they are just as bad as us getting rid of dead wood. They won't have the same financial muscle to spend on players and transfers this summer.
-
Not deflated but a little disappointed. However, it's still a while to the start of season, we have time, and Leicester are still an attractive club and we'll hopefully have some decent people interested. Mixed emotions about Maresca - I think he did well last season but we could have easily failed to get promoted had the players not intervened in the final few games. Wish him well but move on.
-
Casadei may get a bit more game time under him at Chelsea 👀
-
Hermansen contract is to 2028 so the ball would firmly be in our court if Chelsea came for him, only selling if Chelsea pay their usual over the odds.
-
Last season we didn't appoint until mid June, so we have plenty of time to find a suitable replacement.

He's your typical social media influencer who thrives and earns money on gossip, clicks and making stuff up. He's otherwise an irrelevance in the game.
-
There aren't many top level managers out there to recruit - it's very competitive.
-
Look at what Palace and Bournemouth have done - look abroad and get an upcoming exciting manager that most have never heard of. It'll also be a lot cheaper.
-
I don't think he'll be Chelsea's first choice, I think they want McKenna - it's similar vibes to when they went for Potter. Not a good move for McKenna, and perhaps he may want to go to Man U when ten Hag leaves in the summer.

Chelsea are so messed up anything could happen!

Sayonara was really good and was sad when it closed down. 4 Seasons is pretty good, they do a decent thali and excellent pav bhaji!

Bobby's is ok for "chaat" dishes but otherwise poor. People still go there cos it's been there for decades and the owner is always on TV/radio, but there are much better restaurants.

Fully agree. I live in Notts (well, Beeston) and have been into Nottingham Centre about 5 times in the past 12m. I've been out in Leicester a lot more.

Where in Nottingham? (I live in Nottingham)

A lot of the challenges Leicester has are not unique to it, and could be said for any city of it's size. Having grown up in Leicester in the 80s and 90s and comparing it today, it's much better. Take for example shops - back then, many people used to shop in Nottingham - now, and I live in Nottingham, the shops are much better in Leicester and Highcross beats the Nottingham centres. Just compare Leicester centre to Nottingham and Derby, hands down much better. Restaurants and bars - with character, independence - Nottingham in particular has seen a massive drop because it has usually relied on it's large student populus for the bars and clubs, which, because of changes in how young people socialise, are going out of business. We have a fantastic sporting tradition which adds a real buzz to the city. The Comedy Festival is brilliant, and we have amazing theatres - the Curve is probably one of, if not, the best regional theatre in the country. Another area Leicester thrives is it's multiculturalism - again, compared to how things were growing up in the "brown area" of the City, I see far more integration today - just take a look at the football, it's lovely to see 2nd and 3rd generations being part of our shared football community. I do wish more people would try some of the authentic restaurants up Belgrave and Melton Road - you really are missing out on some of the very best Indian food in the UK, and would be welcomed.

Fifa to explore impact of moving domestic matches abroad

When was the last time FIFA actually came up with a good decision?! -

Another bad idea, for the interests of the big clubs, money and TV. The worse for fans. -
Premier league clubs to vote on scrapping VAR
pkonline replied to David Hankey's topic in Leicester City Forum
The current version of VAR is terrible and fans lose out. Back to drawing board and design a proper VAR system that is quicker, involves the fans in stadium, and is used for specific decisions only.
