...he had a season with Reading last term, but he seemed reluctant to play in the Championship this season!!! It seemed he needed some convincing to come here, you still wonder if his heart is not totally in it.
-
...not even his real name!!!
-
...that looked like a penalty to me, Maziz going down after being "clipped" in the box and surrounded by 4 Westerloo players!!! Maziz stayed down, the ref waved "play on" then blew his whistle to take a look at Maziz and decided to have a drop ball after about 5 seconds, he did not even look to check with VAR.
-
...he does tend to just put an aimless ball in when he does not know anything else to do!!! I posted at the start of the season that we were going to see this, we are going to be pulling our hair out with this player.
-
...we do seem intent on putting crosses in the box while we have no one in the team who can get in the box and is proficient in heading the ball!!! Perhaps your run-of-the-mill forward will be more successful than your technically gifted player.
-
...Hirst signed for Ipswich, with a team that can go ahead of us when they catch up on games!!! I am a Hirst fan and have been watching him since the old U23s.
-
...wouldn't Farah have been naturalised, he developed his ability through school sport as opposed to being brought across due to his sporting process!!!
-
...watched Mahrez in his first game for us and at halftime (if memory serves me right) he was practising shooting at goal to the far post!!! There was no one in goal, and he did not score a single goal, he missed all his attempts. When he came on there was an opportunity for him to shoot just inside the box across the keeper, as soon as he hit it, I said "yes" under my breath, and it ended up going wide of the far post, I just could not believe it. Fatawu has it in his locker to do this, he just is not showing this:

...for Vardy read Daka, it should be right up Nacho's street playing as a false 9, but he seems to want to keep dropping deeper and deeper!!! You must wonder if that is down to Maresca looking for overloads in midfield as I cannot see him being happy with Nacho appearing where he does. Now Maresca either pulls him up for it or continues to allow it to continue and it makes no sense. If Nacho is there to get a feel of the ball, then we have to question Maresca. -

...it is a role he is adapting to, not a role he is suitable for!!! Maresca loves him, he will give him every opportunity, but Doyle or a progressive left footed defender will be needed in the long run to make this system better. -

...if the striker is going to drop so deep, it is not going to encourage a defender to follow him and pick him up!!! As a false 9, you are dropping 5 yards or more, which still keeps you in the equation for the opposition defender, too deep and someone else gets to pick you up, the defender stays where he is. -

...McAteer was absolutely buzzing to get on the pitch, doing sprints like he was a hundred metres runner!!! He has a knack of doing something a bit different, he will commit to seeing an opportunity and going for it. It all seemed the same approach by the wingers and Fatawu had ran out of steam, it seemed. Someone's should definitely ask Maresca about the lack of substitutions. -

...just as long as he finds himself in the box when we are attacking then I am fine with that!!! We had a break away with Mavididi and he put a good ball into the box but Vardy was not there for the tap in, nor Fatawu pulled on to the far post. So long as he is there to give an option for the wingers going forward that is all that is needed from both players. -

...I think you will find that they knew that before the game has started!!! The Liverpool game had bigger consequences that was realised. Pretty much the blueprint of how to approach our games. I really can't see teams sitting off now, they are going to press us high up the pitch and shut up shop should they go ahead, then play on the counter. We need to dissuade teams from thinking this way, by being more clinical upfront. -

.. this was his second stint as a manager, last night's game was the most games he had managed at one club!!! The 14 games at Parma then being sacked was his only foray into first team management. This game threw up question marks about him for the first time, he seemed to have constant conversations with his staff and not taking the inniative to implement his own ideas. Not too sure why only two subs, why Fatawu was kept on, or not switched and McAteer not coming on sooner, Why didn't we go long at the start to give Leeds something to worry about, they had a full press on, we should have taken advantage. -
...Oscar Bobb not getting much game time with Man. City, he can play all over the pitch!!! Hamer or Chair, could that possibly be an option?
-
...Hamza coming on and Casadei going off, would mean Ricardo moving to an #8 and Hamza sitting beside Winks in the double pivot!!!

...there is discipline and work rate required to play the #8 role, but Nacho does not suit the role!!! -

...he has been off it for the majority of the games he has played for us!!! A yard off the pace, failing to be strong enough to protect the ball and slow. Leed's Rightback was 17 years old, up against Mavididi. -

...it is hard to believe that two-wingers are not steeped in the knowledge that if one winger is attacking the goal the opposite winger needs to be at the back post!!! There are a lot of basics, that every week, we are flying in the face of, especially with our wingers, it does not take too much to iron out these shortcomings. Improve the player and it improves the team, I don't want to see the same flaws every week. it needs addressing. -

...we should have been looking to turn Leeds from the start that they had made!!! It is all very well holding on to a style of play and trying to adhere to your principles, but balls over the top for our striker and Wide players to run on to, would have taken a lot of pressure off us. If anything it would have made their fullbacks work even harder. -

...I said you were going to see that constantly from him, I just do not understand why this part of his game has not been checked and corrected!!! He has the ability to score in the manner of his shot that hit the post, he has done it loads of times, what I cannot understand is why he is getting under the ball. If you take a look at his recent goal, which finished high in the roof of the net and that I believe was done to him going to the ground whilst executing the shot, if he stayed on his feet it would have either gone over the bar or the bar would still be shaking now!! Frustrating player. -

...it seems everything tonight was counter to what Maresca was installing!!! The way we play should mean we get many players in the box, as earlier in the season that was what we were doing. The lack of substitution was a big surprise, I was hoping Casadei would be taken off at halftime and McAteer brought on, or putting McAteer on the right wing with Fatawu going central as I feel he could be very useful there. Too often the wingers would receive the ball and lay it off as opposed to taking on their man, Leeds did drop deeper, but we never got a real run at their defence. Big question, where was KDH before the header at the end?
