...can't see the point of getting in a striker who will replicate the movements of our existing number one and number two strikers!!! The biggest thing about him is that he can head a ball, as opposed to putting his head in the way of the flight of the ball and hoping it goes in the direction he needs it to do. I would suspect that he will be further up the field with hold-up play and good movement off the ball. With all the balls we keep putting into the box, there will be someone competent to utilise the service.

...I think they bring players into the first team setup regularly for, experience!!! -
A third of the season gone - your thoughts?

...I really feel we are not going to get to where you believe we are in 4th or 5th gears!!! We do not get a two-goal league early in games and turn up the level of performance where the opposition is forced to sit deep to keep the score down, or have a go and commit players forward and leave us space to exploit. With a one-goal lead, the opposition is still in the game, we cannot cut loose and we just use the system to wear down the teams in front of us. A creative #8 aligned with our wingers producing will give us better options, at the moment we will have to rely on wearing the opposition down late in the games. -
...yeah, perhaps you do not see or acknowledge he is just as poor against the opposition, but he usually is!!!
-
...yeah but you also see that he is making the same errors against the opposition!!! We are not going to sit there and say we are just biased against a ref not coming down on our side, just watch how tolerant they are when reffing the big six. They are clearly biased by the crowds, players and managers. They were given directives to clamp down on certain things at the start of the season, and you know before half the season is gone, they had already gone soft and reverted to type. Stronger refs with better integrity is what is needed.
-
...whether a ref is mic'd up or not, the decision is still going to be the same and like it is now, heavily questioned!!! VAR is operated by people and they make horrid mistakes, we are not going to get a better result as people (clearly biased ones) operates the technology. The referee should be looking to go to the screen for his clarification. Any player who touches him (referee) should be yellow carded, it is time they stood up in their roles and stop hiding behind the people viewing the screens.

... totally lost his man, a bit slow to react to the ball coming across!!! He couldn't step up to play the attacker offside as his fellow defender was slightly deeper and he would still be playing the attacker onside. The Keeper staying on his line with a ball bouncing 5 yards before him did not help the situation either.
-
...noticed that since the Coventry game, perhaps not getting better, just a better engine as others tire!!! He was pretty absent in the Leeds game but nearly made up for it with a header at the end. Would love him to be consistently performing all game.

...it's embarrassing that is what it is!!! The problem is that it works somewhere else and they are probably looking at the problem being from your end. I would go even further and prepare a County Court summons and email a copy to them stating your intention to implement this in a 7-day time frame. I would cc Susan Whelan as well. -
...can't wait till Sunday, interesting to see who and what system he puts in place!!! He said he would evaluate the squad before choosing how he decides to play.
-
... course he is going to want to be paid!!! We do not know if he had to take a cut in his original salary, but if you are not happy in your work, the money is some kind of comfort, it keeps a roof over your family's head, but he could have gone elsewhere and perhaps get less and a better mental lifestyle.
-
...the thing is, he should do it, it is right up his street!!! He sees himself as a #10 and is being asked to play a false 9, it suits both his strengths as an attacker and someone looking to link or play off others. Whatever Maresca is telling him, he is either not taking it on board or has been left for him to decide as circumstances dictate on the pitch.

Who do you want for next season in the PL
sacreblueits442 replied to Fightforever's topic in Transfer Talk
...he loves a good nutmeg, are you watching Fatawu and Mavididi!!! The only time he blazed it over the bar was when he tried to knock seven bells out of the ball. -
...the money is pretty much secondary when you are not getting on to the pitch every Saturday!!! As Drinkwater was saying, he would have been getting paid sitting on the bench, but that was not how he wanted to earn the money.
-
...I could watch this all day!!!
-
...no one is going to be ripping anything up for us in this league, the system dictates this!!! All our goals have been spread around, if we had a manager who played in a conventional way (not a possession-based game) then you would find certain players would be in a position to exploit the chances that are created. The forwards are dropping deep to touch the ball, they are not where they conventionally should be, playing Vardy on the shoulder in a non-Maresca team would be such a weapon, as would having Nacho on the edge of the box curling balls into the keeper's right-hand post. But they are part of a carefully crafted system which works for the team as a whole and not for a particular individual.
-
...was he not said to be Puel's midfield general!!! It always seemed as if he could do so much more in his role and I wondered if he was instructed to keep it simple whilst playing in front of the defence. He would probably be a good option now as part of the double pivot, he always seemed to be playing within himself and given the space he had to operate in, he did not take the opportunity to progress the play himself, to create the extra man in the midfield in that instance. If I recall, he was about to go out the door and we needed cover so we extended his contract, when ever it seemed his time with us was over, we kept him here as cover. he did not cover himself in glory whilst with us, but we used him to our benefit, knowing his limitations.

...really can't see the value of using Daka, if there is anyone more likely to start the press in this team, it will be Vardy!!! Playing Choudhury as an #8, just to help with the press maybe a little bit of overkill. Ricardo pushed into the #8 position with Hamza alongside Wicks would be a better use of the individuals. -
...he has had a very strange time at this club!!! Perhaps this was the opportunity for him to get a regular run out in a team that was going well, but he gets injured for a period of time. He is just never in the right place at the right time. He was picking up injuries whilst on loan, he just never seems to be able to muster a long period of good health to showcase why they thought him the equal of Tielemans when he was coming here.
-
...if we stuck with Smth we would have had a use for them, the fact we switched to Maresca's passing game is why they are surplus!!! Unless we understood Maresca was coming here, then it was not a poor choice.
-
...I think that was disproved when he brought him on late for a few minutes against Sunderland!!! It is pointless playing him, if Vardy is ineffective so will he be.

...boom boom...!!! yeah, I knew what you meant. -
...much the same as Gridiron!!! The Head Coach has two challenges for almost the whole game and may have an additional one if his previous two have been successful.
-
...the first thing that comes to mind as soon as you see his name is ice cream!!! He looks and place like Will Alves big brother. He is very upright, not dynamic but totally unruffled with opposition players around him. My reservation with Alves was always where he would be best suited and this player is much the same. He does not come across as a conventional player, the way he plays is not what you would expect to see. I would say that if we are looking to see how Alves will fit into a team, you are watching it in this video. Skill, awareness but slightly aloof on the pitch.
-
...isn't that what Clough called for!!! He said, If they (his own players) were busy talking back and haranguing the referee, then they are not doing their job, and asked the referee to book them.
