Leeds post match thread - 0-1 loss
sacreblueits442 replied to jim5000's topic in Leicester City Forum
...we are about as good as we will be!!! What holds this team back is the lack of quality coming from our wingers. They fail to produce time and time again and in games where you need that little bit of quality to edge it, they could not produce. They both look good taking on a man, but the pass is overhit, played square, and chipped into the box, with no thought of pulling the ball back for an incoming Leicester player. It isn't difficult to make those decisions a part of your game, it is poor decisions and execution over and over again. -

...I think the #8 position is a real problem for us!!! Casadei was off it again tonight, Yunus is more creative and forward-looking, but he is out of the picture. Wilf is out for a time and we do not have the balance in that position. Fatawu and Mavididi do flatter to deceive, Mavididi struggled against a young 17-year-old, and Fatawu failed to take advantage of a player on an early yellow. How many times is he going to send a ball over the bar, it happens too often, and it needs to be addressed. We do have a problem with slow starts in the second half, not sure what we say at half time, but that is something we should have eradicated from our game by now. -
...posted before, seen him play with a 3-5-1-1, with Wout Faes as the central CB !!!
-
...there are no U23s, it is U21s...!!!
-
...my biggest worry is his history so far in management!!! He is good where he should be as his team dominates the league (Salzburg and Macabi) where they are big dogs, hard to mess up. His figures in respect of the other clubs are a nightmare, it is a big worry.

...Casadei is still a question mark, Yunus is a more creative and progressive player!!! -

...match No:15, this will be, as a manager, the most he has been in charge of a professional club as the man in the hot seat!!! -
...perhaps the first line of my post should have been a question mark, that was how it should have been read!!! I am not contradicting myself, I am saying he is doing something now, that was perceived to have been his shortcomings. This is down to the way that we play now. Perhaps a combination of all the things that you have listed, but importantly the way we protect him by keeping possession and the work of the players ahead of him.
-
...Vestergaard was not suited to play a highline, a liability at the back under Rodgers!!! He is playing very high up the pitch under Maresca, the way we now play has mitigated his deficiencies. He was not happy with how he was brought here under the promises of Rodgers and no doubt his turning down offers to go elsewhere was a reaction to what her perceived to be false promises and he now wanted his pound of flesh.

...totally get what you are saying, I do think that to have all the money available to us like Manchester City would be something that I would not wish for this club!!! -
...Rodgers would not have wanted a player with the temperament to stand up to him!!! He managed to clear out the players with character and Vestergaard was ostracised, no doubt because he would not "toe the line."
-
...In all of Garcia's 9 teams that he has managed, his draws and losses are very much the same!!! Even with the 2 biggest win percentages ( Red Bull Salzburg and Maccabi Tel Aviv), there is still a 1 or 2-game difference. I would suggest it means when he is good, he is very good, or when he is average, he is mediocre.
-
...even though it has been a inconsistent season and without a manager at present you are still 1 point away from 10th and 4 points away from 8th!!! It really just need the right man in charge to take you to end of season play off. The potential has always been there for the last 2 seasons but the team played in too open a style of play without having the control in midfield to dictate and control games. This season could turn out to be better than anyone dare to dream and that you would have had before.

...just people who have seen it all before and know what can happen when you least expect it!!! The younger brigade is more gungho, and to an extent naive. -

...ok Uncle Albert, I know, when you took out a whole garrison single-handed, pity they were on our side eh!!! -
...hugs that touchline tight and you do not expect him to keep the ball in play like he does!!! A player who loves to dribble, not so much aware of the players around him. Love to see a player take on an opposition, and once he beats his man, you have to be looking for the switchball, you have dragged enough players to you to create the space to put someone in. Aimless balls played into the box should never happen, but it happens too often.
-
...with all the information laid out in front of you, you are still basing your argument on the financial state of other clubs at that time!!! If the collapse of ITV digital, a new stadium being built and a winding up order being issued, at the same time, and for you does not constitute a unique circumstance, then there is no more that can be said. Sorry, I am not going to go down this rabbit hole with you, I feel that there could be much more going on here than you digging in for the sake of it.
-
...without a forensic look at all the books for the clubs involved, we are not going to be able to give you an answer, nor you will be able to justify your argument!!! If Dennis Wise's agent elects to call for a winding-up order to be issued, and he pays the necessary amount of money to implement the process, then there will be nothing that we can do but follow the process.
-
...there was nothing "special" about going under, the circumstances were however unique at the time!!! As a business, you look ahead and plan accordingly with a budget put in place that will see you through a certain period, and then you reassess when you encounter a new phase. The collapse of ITV Digital would have decimated that budget and our figures no doubt could not hold water. In this instance you look at all the options available and how you can survive. We chose to go into Receivership, it offered us a way out due to the structure of the process. We owed people money who could not recoup their money against us, was that a moral thing to do, clearly with the potential of people losing their jobs and not paying our bills the answer is no, but pragmatism comes before morals in business. There is the "family" the staff you have running the club right down to the tea lady, they are the faces that you see and the ones counting on you to keep them in a job, so you make a choice. I understand your argument, "people in glass houses....", and judging by the posts in this thread many agree with you. In this discussion, I would assume that you would elect to have resolved all outstanding debts and take the additional time in the second tier.

... Probably a more pertinent question to ask would be how many of the other relegated clubs had built a new stadium!!! The £37 million cost of the new stadium, combined with relegation from the Premiership, the collapse of the English transfer market due to the introduction of the transfer window and the collapse of ITV Digital meant Leicester went into receivership shortly after moving to the new stadium. Birse Construction who had built the stadium therefore lost a large part of their fee, and they withdrew from football ground construction.[8] As part of the deal which brought the club out of receivership, the stadium's ownership reverted to American academic retirement fund TIAA–CREF, who had supplied £28 million via a bond scheme towards the stadium's construction, with the club taking a long-term lease while the bond repayments were made. On 1 March 2013, owners King Power purchased the stadium through their company K Power Holdings Co, Ltd.[ NB. The club was saved by a Lineker consortium with people such as Heskey putting in £100,000.00 which they never got back.
