So that video was apparently (and I guess unsurprisingly) incredibly weird. I wish the hysterical masses hadn't overused the words "Orwellian" and "1984" so much in recent times so it would actually have impact using them here.

This game is absurd. I'm currently exploring a cave so large it has its own map and bonfire network.

Reaction to Russian sanctions from a Russian youtuber.

I have given this a rep purely for the sheer audacity of it and how appropriate it is for this thread. Not because I agree with the opinion stated. You are clearly mentally ill.

Ok disregard everything I said above about this game being less rage inducing than previous titles. In the time since posting that I've hit no less than 3 solid, **** you in particular, roadblocks that I'm going to have to git gud and return to later. Edit: Tbf I'm doing an Intelligence build and so far all the good stuff I've found is faith or strength/dex based so I reckon until I find more relevant pickups I'm in a worse place than I would be had I picked any other specialisation. The trouble is these bosses are all in places which I'm pretty sure are hiding gear for my class!

Which in itself was quoting a post about a specific bombing event. Your and Lionator's remarks are just contrarianism if neither of you are addressing that particular story which appears to have actually happened. Save it for when it actually applies.

Sorry: Demonstrate your intelligence by enlightening us all on what's wrong about that story, then.

I've seen various theories but the most sensible to me seems a combination of not wanting to sacrifice valuable aerial resources to the AA support in the column; not wanting to engage on relatively open ground, preferring to ambush the ground units piecemeal as they enter enclosed urban territory; letting the convoy exhaust its supplies and demoralise its troops further as it crawls towards Kyiv (don't interrupt you're enemy when they're making a mistake).
-
Which bit is misinformation? There seem to be a few independent sources confirming the story re missiles striking Kiev Tower and Babyn Yar.

The combat is true to the previous titles so if you struggled there you'll struggle here too, but you do get more options for negotiating it so overall I'd say it's more forgiving. Additionally the distribution of sites of grace (bonfires) and stakes of Marika (checkpoints) means you rarely die so far away from a spawn point that retrieving your lost runes (souls) is a major struggle, so there's less sense of being penalised for experimenting and taking risks. Like in DS3, all the big bads have a bonfire right next to their arena so there's none of that frustration of reaching a boss with half health and a few flask charges used up. Aaaand you can allocate flask charges at will, so for instance if I know I'm about to go into a big fight I'll put most of my charges into the magic flask so I can spam spells but when I'm exploring I'll have them more evenly distributed so I can heal more and spend more time looking around before returning to a bonfire. Defeating groups of enemies will now recharge your flasks too which also helps to stay in the field longer. So yeah, definitely not rubbish and there's been a lot of attention to quality of life changes that make it feel less daunting to overcome each new obstacle.

You have to pass the fog wall first, no summons in the castle proper. Between the jellyfish and the summonable NPC just before you enter you get more than enough secondary aggro to keep him distracted while you wail away.

It's some small consolation that over the last few days there's been an upswing in English social media users realising that it wasn't fearmongering when we spoke of how Brexit was championed by Russian disinformation and troll farms.
-
It's overall less difficult, but you'll still get punished a lot. I'm currently in the first castle and you're isolated from your horse in here so these sections play just like the souls titles everyone's familiar with. I've barely scratched the game's surface but it's already hard to dispute the early cries of goty

I don't think you've understood at all. I'm bemoaning the culture of profits over people which sees me having to fight back against my superiors to make sure my staff are treated fairly and in accordance with the law. To respond with 'yeah but communism' is irrelevant.
-
I do not like the implications of the omitted next line.
-
Cool. Have you ever wondered why you instinctively slam communism in response to critiques of capitalism? I happen to believe it's possible to disparage capitalist evils without requiring a shift to communist ones, but maybe that's just me.
-
The key word you used there was "choose". I try not to do the whole toxic atmosphere thing so I honour that word when it comes to my staff and I'm not going to punish anyone for choosing not to be overworked.

Having to explain to my boss in nicer terms that I don't give a shit about their opinion on closing up early if someone has to stay on to cover for an absence, the same person is opening the next day too and making them work the full opening hours would contradict the working time directive. Capitalism is an inhumane construct

Guessing old Vlad goes without saying in here.
