The wingspan is based I believe on the A330. i had an interesting flight last week with Atlantic Airways to Vágar Airport in the Faroe Islands. Although the airline has only 4 A320 jets they have devised with Airbus a unique landing aid which allows them to land at Vagar with a minimum cloud base of only 200 feet.
