We would never make a visionary appointment like Iraiola. Enzo was as far as we go and he was basically begging for the job

Fair play to the tv companies and FA. This might be an all timer for worst kick off times. Us travelling to Manchester on Friday night. Millwall to Leeds for a 12.15 Man City to London for the same Newcastle to Birmingham on the Saturday night 7.45 Palace to Donny on a Monday night Notts Forest to Exeter on a Tuesday night

Say they got thrown out and relegated to league two and he had no clause and wanted to stay. Do you think he could score 100 goals in a 46 game season?
-
Not being funny but how is the ref meant to see that?

I know it’s a completely different sport/context but when Tigers were absolutely shambolic circa 2017-20 period, they got Pat Howard to come in and do a complete audit of the club as an elite sport business. Within two years of implementing the behind the scenes changes and his recommendations, they were domestic champions again, had the best academy in the country and seem to have a sustainable plan in spite of turbulence. Would our chairman have the humility to have an externally run review like that or will he continue to dig his grave.

Surely Enzo had a big input in the 2023 signings. Certainly Doyle and Casadei and then findings players that could fill his holes.

Comparing this season to 2014/15 Great Escape
Lionator replied to tickler28's topic in Leicester City Forum
I don’t think it is revisionism. There was a huge sense of injustice at the time. We were coming out of games against good teams losing 0-1, 1-2 having completely ran toe to toe with them and their PL quality shining through. In the end a number of things got us through but the great escape wasn’t random, we just needed the stars to align and they did. -

The amounts of shots were conceding every game has gone down dramatically since he’s come in (although we still concede loads through lack of defensive discipline). We’re also creating more and clearly have an attacking shape, it’s just that the players aren’t good enough. -

To quote a great philosopher Nigel F. Pearson, anyone that blames the manager for this mess is “an ostrich, with their head buried in the sand.” Peak Fergie, Pep, Sacchi wouldn’t keep this side up because the squad is not good enough -
So this is when you think out of the box Brighton style. You aim for a manager that has a similar philosophy to Enzo so they can hit the ground running, even if they haven’t had much success previously. You go and get a manager that suits you style, not wait for the also rans that are desperate.

As long as king power or someone is pumping money in then it’s never going to get to that stage but it could be a rebuild job

sorry Rudkin. If a chef is asked to make a meal but the only three ingredients he has are a turd, a rotting corpse and Stilton, then it’s gonna taste pretty bad. -

Think he set up well tonight, the subs also had an impact. The players just aren’t good enough for this level. -
Hope he heard that
-
We’ve clearly put up a fight tonight. Effort isn’t the issue, it’s quality.
-
Would our starting XI last season under Enzo beat this team?
-
The difference in individual quality between us and them is crazy. We’ve set up better, we’ve been better tactically, we’re playing better but one moment of quality from their striker and one lapse from us.
-
Missing Fatawu big time down the right
-
11 shots v 4 conceded. Compare to the Cooper days and the West Ham game it’s clear progress. Just need to create better chances
-
Soumare has been our best player for weeks now
-
Soumare best player on the pitch
-
For three years this team has been destroyed by individual errors. Tonight we’re set up the best we possibly can yet time after time there’s brain farts

But Iran were basically defeated a few months back, they’ve lost at every single turn. Yet Israel were still bombing, I think there’s more to it. I think Netanyahu thought Trump would give him a free hand and he’s clearly said no. Add in the fact that the gulf states trust Trump more on the basis that he sees them as opportunities rather than inhumane theocracies.

Speculation is annexation of parts of the West Bank which is still terrible but if it gets the bombing to stop (and I’m assuming he made several threats to BN too) then it’s far better than the alternative and Biden’s disgusting inaction.
